Ultegra 6700 Chainset, 53/39 175mm £75 Hardly used and in brilliant condition. I swapped it out for a compact a while ago and have decided not to go back.
Fizik Pave CX Saddle - With only 20 miles on it so virtually new **£30
**
G-Star Sandhurst insulated jacket, size large. Great winter jacket but just a bit too big for me. It would fit someone who takes a 40-42 (I'm 38). New with tags. £50
I'd prefer payment via paypal.
Collection in SW London or contact me for postage (U.K only)

Thats lovely! the paint looks amazing, is it a new one or s/h?
It was built in '86, so has no doubt been well used, although it was in great condition when I bought it. It was white with the modern(ish) decals originally, but I much prefer these old decals, and the blue won't show up the dirt so much.
Powdercoat was done at Armourtex, the decals are from Lloyds and I had Vaz put a clear laquer over the top so it should be pretty durable.
All the parts are off my old Roberts that had a crack in the chainstay and seat tube and was sadly retired.

Indeed. I had aero levers on the last bike with only one hooked up, and I may well put them back on this. I thought I'd try it without them for a few months to see how I get on. I'm so used to hanging onto aero's that riding feels very strange and insecure without them, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Yeah, they could be angled down more, though the photo makes it look a bit worse than it is. I'll be keeping it on the road and won't be spending much time in the drops, so I wanted the bars in line with the stem angle. If I turn them down my hands start to slide off the tops..

Thanks Rawrrr. Would it be tougher than a stiff cardboard bike box do you think?
I'm taking my Cervelo RS and I'm terrified of it getting damaged by Sleazyjet. I was thinking a hard case would be the best option, followed by a good cardboard bike box, folowed by a bag.
I'd prefer a case as it will be easier to wheel around at the other end, but the main criteria is that the bike be undamaged. If that means me lugging a giant cardboard box through the airport then so be it.
I've no experience in travelling with a bike so I'm a bit paranoid. Have you had much luck with the bag?

I'm doing some work in France and want to take my bike as I'd like to tack an Alps trip on to make it all worthwhile. I'll be flying so really need of a hard case to borrow (or rent on the cheap).
If anyone has one and isn't using it between the 14th of Sept and the 7th of Oct I'd be eternally grateful if I could borrow it.

He was right: the peloton was against him and the British team, no-one else helped to close down the breakaway
I don't think it was any great conspiracy against Cav or Team GB. The fact is they rode a one day race like a tour stage, and as a smaller team with no radios or DS instructions they blew it. Letting a large group with some brilliant one day riders get more than 5 minutes in front was a big mistake. Most teams in the peleton had team mates in the breakaway with some chance of a medal, so had nothing to gain by chasing them down and gifting it to Cav.
Anyway, it's old news. It's a flat day in Spain and they're averaging 36km/h according to the feed. Either they mean mph or the lads are having lazy day in the sunshine.

I've only done 800 miles on the chain/cassette, so was hoping I could get away without changing it... Will this be ok? Or will I be clickety clacking all over the shop?
At this stage the cheapest option seems to be a SRAM Apex 12-32 cassette and a Tiagra long cage rear mech that will give me 39-32, or 33 gear inches. It's not top of the line kit but it should get me through the trip just fine.
Even if I get a compact I'd still need to lower the rear cassette from a 25 to 28 to get 33 gear inches, costing additional monies..

14-27 would work with a 34 up front, I've just been specifying 11 or 12-28 as that's the size most seem to come in. SRAM does a 12-32 that looks like a cheap option with a 105 rear mech.
Campag would work but it's ugly as sin and Italian to boot ;)
Thanks for the offer of a bike but I'll be taking mine. I'd feel like I was cheating on her if I used another in the Alps! Besides, she's never been to France and I'm sure she would get a lot out of the experience...

I'm currently running 39-25, which is fine for the short hills here, but will be switching to an 11-28 for the trip, preferably matched to a 34t front!
A SRAM Rival 12-32 and a 105 long cage derailleur would still set me back nearly £90. I can buy a new 105 compact chainset for £105 off Ribble, though I'd still need a 12-28 which is another £35 to get the same gear as 39-32. £90 vs £140, hmmmmmm..
To be honest I was hoping someone here had a compact in their spares box they'd sell me on the cheap.
But it feels so smooth against my skin. Plain old lycra just doesn't cut it any more...
