Has anyone on here cycled to or from Harwich, if so I'm looking for a half scenic route away from the major roads if possible. Tried using the search on couldn't find anything here, Google throws up dual carriage and motor ways only, so thought posting a new thread might throw up some results. Thanks!
Were you looking to get the ferry to Hoek Van Holland perchance? If you find a good cycle route I would be interested in seeing it. I was planning a cycle tour of Holland in Sept and originally was going to just get the train to Harwich but maybe I should HTFU and ride.

It was all cool up until the Hardcore CM biker losers decide that lying spread out on London bridge for 20+ mins causing major traffic back ups is a good way of getting the message across..
No wonder there's more contempt towards cyclists from motorists..
Generally there was lots of cool people on the ride.
Doubt I will do another though..Yeah it always brings a small tear to my eye having to watch innocent motorists stuck in traffic... I mean it's not really what you would expect in central London and lets face it all traffic jams are basically down to the behaviour of cyclists somewhere along the line.
Some times I think the causes of CM would be better served if instead of us all setting off in one big group we cycled around in single file perhaps at 10 minute intervals... that way we ensure that the cars can still maintain their 40mph average speed without having to look out for big groups of cyclists.

We should do it at rush hour on the grounds most fatal cycling accidents happen during the commute and get reported as road incidents so motorists don't have to go through the trauma of delays.
A healthy delay caused around the worst areas by a troupe of riders in white would make a bit of a statement no?+1

Saturday, IMO. Most people available to go on the ride, most visibility to shoppers etc.
Of course anything from TCR east to Shorditch is very quiet on a saturday, could reach a lot of people (actual londoners/commuters rather than tourists) by hitting the city on a week day.
Maybe we could swing by Boris' gaff at some point as well

Michael Jackson's last request was to be cremated and for his ashes to be put in an etch-a-sketch so kids could still play with him.
oh come on!!!! stop with variation-on-a-theme pedo-from-the-grave crap jokes... If I get another text or email with one of these I'm going to burn anything with a microchip within a 10 mile radius

Given that you give it a '+1', I imagine that you actually meant 'I couldn't disagree less' or 'I couldn't fail more to disagree'?

[EDIT2] think you might be right there old boy....goes off to flagelate oneself for trying to be clever...never again

I ran over a hedgehog one evening. Did'nt see it until it was too late and i felt both wheels go over it.I did aa U-turn when up to it and the poor thing did'nt move for ages. Then it started to get up and casually walk across the road.Did'nt even get a puncture!
I nearly ran over a hedgehog too once. I really didn't want it to get run over by someone else but didn't really know what to do. I was tempted to pick it up but settled for just willing it across the road while watching out for cars. It got 2/3rds of the way to freedom when teenage chav on a scooter bombed up the road. I pointed out the hedgehog but instead of avoiding it he purposely aimed for it and sent it flying to hog heaven :(
My resulting rage was so extreme I am actually really glad I didn't have the speed to catch up with the chav..

Such a long afternoon at my desk doing tedious tasks left me comtemplating choking myself with the mouse lead... (possibly while wanking)
until I found a bag of broken biscuits in the tea-point... I was almost in tears as I scoffed down handfulls... in my pathetic existance, this constitutes epic win!

My 2 cents:
If you get pulled by the cops for whatever reason just smile politely, look like your listening, answer their questions and say your sorry if you commited an offence. In my experience this can be the difference between a telling off and a penalty notice. IMO antagonising police and being obstructive just becuase they stopped you for commiting an offence is stupid and childish... it's not cool and it's not clever.
If you are unfortunate enough to meet an officer who is full of sh!t, just suck it up, play along and bitch about it later on the internet.

360 Road rash with a Real Pain fakie followed by full on vertebrate whip.. thats how i roll
Yeah not bad, but this morning is all about the green-light to last-second-no-look-lemming-ped-charge-anticipation-fail to shoulder-bump to over-shoulder-nod-and-tut-combo to 'giving cyclists a bad name'-guilt-trip :(
Oh no :(
Really hope there is some good news soon. Thoughts are with whoever is involved.
