Ed, I live in Norway so it'd be a b*tch to ship..=P But I hope it fits, I find my 54cm Pug a bit too small. And it gives me back pain after about an hour of riding, god knows why.
I'll go for it, and hope for the best. Don't know if I need a bike with gears, maybe I'll keep it as it is. If not, sell/give away the group set if it's anything good/well known.
-
@Spudger: Yeah, I figured if it's all original, then I might get at least some money for it.
@wiganwill: He says it's 58cm, I'm about 185-187'ish.
-
I'm going to ride it fixed, so basically only use the frame, bars/stem and seat/post. Maybe I'll keep the bottle-thing.
The wheels will probably be sold or thrown away..=)Don't know, the only thing he said is "the red Motobecane for 50£", when I asked about how it is he said it's on good cond. I might go take a look at it during the week, if noone else snatches it before me..

I'm not a very "elitist" guy when it comes to how a bike should look, but this looks ridiculous to me. The frame geometry is too leaned-back and someone should really put him out of his misery for getting the "legit Tree Camo" aerospoke..

Nifty Ostralian Shit
Lol, I got No Original Shit to add to this..
But looks like a fine start for a new "What oven cleaner?" thread!@Jung
That's what I figured as well..especially the NJS-parts are pretty ridiculously priced.. -
Google, you're defintely not even trying!
Google NJS - a wiki link appear 2nd from top
Google NOS - a wiki link appear 5th from top.
or just hoover your mouse cusor on the dotted line under each word - NJS NOS.
damn, I guess I didn't try hard enough..!
Thanks, thought I liked nifty japanese shit better than the real meaning..=) -

I had this problem on my old MTB. Every time I put some good pressure on the pedals, the clicking/squeeking noise started.
If you're completely sure it's not the pedals, then maybe fixing that crankbolt and getting a good one will fix it? Thinking that crank might be just sliiiiightly loose, so it moves abit when pressure's applied and makes the noise.

Zippie: the cable is brand new, bought it just some days ago!
I've accepted the fact that the brake is old and "outdated". I thought I might keep it original, but I don't care now, I just want to ride.
I found this brake at VeloSolo, it's cheap and I trust VeloSolo when they say it's good:
http://cgi.ebay.com/BN-Shimano-Exage-SINGLE-Front-BRAKE-Caliper-FIXED-fixie_W0QQitemZ380121496825QQihZ025QQcategoryZ27949QQcmdZViewItemThey also have Dirt Harry-levers which I might pick up as well, also because they recommend it. I think my bars will be too fat for the lever though, I'll measure it before I buy..
I just hope this will work finally, I'm very bad at stopping breakless.
Freezing: Thanks for the link, SB is the king! I didn't even think about checking out his explanation for this.

It's some noname thing, I'm not quite sure. I couldn't find MTB-style levers to fit my drop bars (all the levers were too small) so I had to forcefulle "open up" the lever-mount (if that's what it's called?) and use a longer screw.
I didn't know if it'd work so that's why I used the cheapo lever, in case I totally screwed it up.
The good bike-shop lever I have is Tektro.I seems that it is the problem of short pull brake/long pull lever, since the "symptoms" are the same.
Found this just now (http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/BL309A02-Tektro+319Ac+Rh+Bmx+Short+Pull+Lever.aspx) and it looks decent enough to have on my bars. I'll see if I can get a hold of it here in Oslo.. -

Hey!
I just installed a front brake on my Peugeot yesterday and had a real problem with it actually slowing me down.
I used the old Weinmann brake that was originally on the bike, but bought new Shimano brake-pads.The wire is tight and the lever works and only goes about 1/4 of the way to the bars before I can't pull it anymore, and the bike still rolls. I can even overpower the brake by keeping the lever in and pushing the front wheel with my hand.
I had to use both of my hands to get that extra pull for the brake to really bite.
Any suggestions on what the problem might be? = -
That's normal, once you get the bug it's hard to stop. I've two projects on the go, having just finished another two, and am thinking about what to do after I've done those!
If you're in London you should come along to one of the many social events and get to meet a few like minded people. It's a great source of knowledge and inspiration. And you get a beer or two too. What's not to like!
Haha, I see! I want to try to build a fixie offroader, just 'cause some of them look stunning when they're "cleaned up" of the gears and such.
Ah, I forgot to mention that I live in Norway, so it'll be a long ride to you guys. But I might be in London some time during the summer, so if I'm lucky (and have my bike with me) I can tag along!
There's no scene here yet actually, we have two forums but nothing this size here! It's a slightly closed community cause fixies are only starting to become a "trend" here, so almost noone knows what it is. I've seen several bike companys making OTP fixies now, so maybe they'll show up on the norwegian market as well and people will get interested! -
Welcome Vector. Is that your first fixed project?
Thanks! =)
Yes, this is the first one! I found out about the whole fixed gear-scene last summer, but haven't gotten around to starting a build before March this year.
It has been so much fun that I'm considering starting on a new project in the summer! -

Hey all!
I'm kinda new here, been lurking around for a while but haven't posted anything yet..
This is my Peugeot project so far, need to fix up a couple of things like a front brake and new seat.
Weinmann LP18 rims, Formula hubs, crankset from the ALTA bike, the rest is mostly original. Those old brakes are off now btw..^^ -
This bike looks really cool, I'm considering it as well as my first bike. This or converting myself, a conversion is probably cheaper, but on the other hand, here more or less nothing can go wrong construction-wise. (at least for me, who has NO experience in bicycles)
It's sold for 319£ or something at ridelow.co.uk..!*VS
I agree with Dicki, you twats! I'll never be back on this forum again, being treated like a fucken child! Piss off, all of yous wankers!
Haha, I just used up all my british swearing. Well, almost!
yeah, I got the point, Nice Old Shit and Nice Japanese Shit it is! Off to ebay and get me some overpriced shiny "Made in China for Japanese circling bikes" parts
