Spinergy 26" (650c) MTB? wheels at £149 BIN the lot
are they wider than road ones then?MTB rims and tires are 559mm diam, road rims and tires are 571mm.
Meaning that the (rim) brake blocks have to be adjusted 5-6 mm higher or lower and that the clearance between frame and tire is different (depending on tire size).
And yes, usually MTB rims are wider than road rims. -

Track frame JABO (Amsterdam), used by Gerben Karstens (road sprinter).
58cm C-T

Not bad, my size, but now already € 190.-
If I'll take a Dutch track frame, then probably a Gazelle, RIH or Zieleman
And I don't like Kastens at all :( -
For that money you must be able to get a brandnew frame like Prorace (Feryn, Belgium), the same as Terry Dolan and some others.
I guess the purchase price for a dealer is approx. € 200.-.
If you are close frieds to a bike shop owner, he must be able to offer you a good deal.
The frame is nothing special, but that's all you need. Everything else is just fancy, most of the time not better.
If you're looking for something classy, or expensive brand, pay more or hope for a bargain second hand. -
that is the new campag model where the crest is not engraved, the old one with the engraved crest is more $$$$$
Encraves logo's cause cracks and breakage.
Not only logo's btw.All old (but also newer) Shimano and Campy cranks have their well-known weak spots.
Encraved logo's, edge spider/crankarm , stamped markings, ... -

See my reply in this thread:

I was kinda lucky yesterday: € 125.- with just 50km usage.
So, if you want to pay around £ 200.- excl postage, I'll think about it.

In the past I also had the problem that I couldn't remove the freewheel.
I decided that the freewheel had to be trashed anyway.
So, I disassembled the freewheel (removed the cogs and freewheels'outer body, pawls, balls, etc) and clamped the inner freewheelbody in a vice.
Using the rim as a lever / fulcrum, I was able to separate the freewheel from the hub.BTW, a new 5spd freewheel will cost just a few £. And a bit of grease during assembly will avoid a lot of headaches.

Not for me, but thanks anyway.
Prefer a bit smaller, no drilling for brakes (and thus less clearance) and, who doesn't, Italian or even a nice Raleigh of Gerald O'Donovan himself ;-)Price range: of course it depends on what is offered.
Between GBP 100 and 500 or so.
Example: GBP 300 for a Cinelli in the right size, even with a "small" dent in the D/T... -
I had a couple of such Benotto's in the 80's.
I think 2x 3000's in this Champaign color, 2x in red and finally the first Benotto "Aero" (5000?).
I liked them mainly because Moser rode them.
No bad frames at all.
The problem was the NL distributor.
Finally, I wanted a Colnago. But then I was still young, so you can't blame me for that. ;-)
It has a number somewhere at the bottom of the shaft. It is either 1 (shortest), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 (longest).
Can you please check what you have ?
An indication for what you may need: every number is +30mm or -35mm.
So, probably you need 2 numbers shorter.
I can offer you a brand new # 3.
I'm interested in a # 4.
