I have a brand new Kona Fire Mountain, still in the box, not even un-bubblewrapped.
It's black and white, 20", here is the blurb:
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/kona/fire-mountain-2011-mountain-bike-ec026512?query=konaIt's surplus to requirements so I was just wondering if anyone has a modern-ish road bike, 60cm they would be interested in trading for this?
I'm also after replacing my track bike that was knicked so if anyone has anything along those lines give us a shout, either trade or happy to pay cash for the that.
I'm in Liverpool so would need to organise transport.

As posted above start slow. An extra 30s per km for the first 3/4 km's is'nt going to kill your time.
Both half and full marathon runners started at the same time on my last full marathon. I placed myself with some half runners and felt OK, if a little pushed, at their pace. I thought I was going to beat my PB, untill my body colapsed at 23 miles. Could have been for any number of reasons but I feel it was a case of too fast too soon.
Use this calculator to use your half time to calculate a full time.
http://www.liebreich.com/LDC/HTML/Various/RunCalculator.htmlYour 20miles in 2:46, gives a marathon time of 3:44. But you cant really compare a racing time with a training time. Your half marathon time will be a more accurate measure. FWIW 3:30 is my (slightly ambitous) target time, and I doubt I could call a 2:46 - 20mile run 'comfortable'.
Once you have your target use the 'mile split times' to keep you on target during the race.
I might be exagerating to call it comfortable! more that i felt i could have gone if necessary and better than the 3 previous 20 milers I've done. Someone i know is running in the same race and he's about 9 min faster over 20 miles than me, i don't want to run with him if I'm going to run out of juice before the end.

Doing a marathon in 4 weeks, and I'm trying to work out what time is realistic to finish it in.
I'm running 20 miles in around 2.46 which doesn't feel too uncomfortable, and have done half distance in about 1.45 in training. I'm running a half marathon race next week which is paced so i reckon should give me a better idea on my race pace [never raced before] but on the day I'm petrified about going off too fast and having nothing left, but also want to do the best time i can.
any advice?

Posting this here as it might get lost on the main Stolen Bike thread and obviously this is a bit more local.
Someone has nicked my Fondriest track bike out of my shed here in Liverpool, it's red Dedacciai tubing with yellow and black decals, 58 ctc, straight carbon forks. Built with black mid v rims and miche hubs, miche chainset and seatpost, black risers and track grips, regal seat.
if anyone sees it about please let me know, i'm gutted. -

Had 3 bikes taken from the shed, Fondriest track bike, 10 year old Gary Fisher full suspension bike and a basic GT mountain bike. The insurance company has said they will replace like for like but I'm a bit unclear exactly what this means.
The chances of them tracking down a replacement Fondriest seems slim and i got it as a bargain from ebay [£200 fully built] so are they likely to fob me off?
Similarly the Gary Fisher was only insured for £500 as it was old but cost a grand new, obviously they're not going to give me a grand cash but a £500 full sus wouldn't be much use to me.
Ideally I'd just like the cash to hit ebay and start again but I'm concerned if I take this option they will discount the payment and I'll not end up with enough to get sorted out. They stress in the policy they will only pay out what they can replace the stuff for.anyone got any experience on this?

I'm going to give this Run Keeper Pro app a go too. Would be nice to keep a log of my runs and to check progress. Going to test it out tonight in fact!
I started using this this week, i found the 5 minute updates on pace really useful and the the 3 runs i used it on were faster than anything I'd done previously, I was delighted. However I was a bit puzzled how my speed could vary so much when I felt it was constant and the total length was always less than the distance I planned on Goolemaps, which was a bit of a blow as I'm training for an April Marathon.
Last night 6 miles into an 8 mile run my pace dropped by a minute per mile, I nearly gave my self a heart attack to bring it back to my target, I've never run so fast over a prolonged distance.
When i got home i checked the route and the GPS signal had obviously dropped out when i was doing a loop of a park, it plotted 3 points rather than the loop, shortened the section of my run from a circle to a triangle and made my pace slower accordingly.Back to the drawing board. Looking for a way to check pace during a run that is relaible and ideally cheap.

just finished my first half, 1.42.09. Liverpool Half Marathon, quite pleased as was shooting for 1.45.
Now just the small matter of the full one in Madrid in 3 weeks....
