Am considering buying my auld and untechy mum a Tesco Hudl for Christmas. Will be almost solely for skypeing us so she can talk to her grandson and for looking at pictures of said grandson. Hopefully it will get her more into internet and emailing as well as she gets put off by using her rubbish PC.
Seems to get some good reviews for being good but not flashy. Anyone used one or have any thoughts on how a 65 year old mum would cope with it?

Does anyone have any experience of 3D printing?
I have a small and pretty simple design I want made up in plastic. Has anyone ever used any companies in London to design and get built and know whether it is expensive or not. I'm sure I have passed somewhere on clerkenwell rd near Farringdon which does it. There also seems to be so e pretty amazing apps for it online but do you think it's something which can be done with reasonable computer skills but no 3d modelling experience?

Texting whilst driving is illegal but very easy to do safely and does not need to cause accidents. Jumping a red light on a bike is very easy to do safely and does not need to cause accidents. Who is right? This is just another shit thread for people to argue on. Can it be closed? There is too much of this kind of shit on lfgss just now.

I have moved to the top of a brutally steep hill in Sarf London and combined with having a baby I think I might have been out on the bike about 5 times in the last 8 months. It's really killed my mojo because even after a nice ride the climb at the end always leaves me sweaty and busted of lung. Having moved from the hipster spice route where cycling was quick and easy it has really put me off and am even thinking of getting gears.

The obligatory wrong comma before 'due', originally a dogsballs innovation, still cracks me up in these threads. I don't know why. I guess I just get over-emotional about it.
I thought you would appreciate it. It is important to maintain the forums 'style' at all times.

Finally made it to polpo last night. Very very good but not the spectacular end of all things I was expecting.
Highlights where pork and fennel meatballs and cod cheeks with lentils and a strangely dirty but good fried mortadella with slaw. Would say that the frito misto looked great but did not really taste of much, same with the risotto. I have a suspicion that the sheer number of covers each night and the fact they now have 3 restaurants might have lowered the standard slightly from when it first opened.
It was though tasty and only came to £120 for 4 of us with pudding, a couple of bottles of house red and service which for a popular soho restaurant ain't half bad.

I'm working on the film out in France at the moment. It's been great, all round the mountains of the Alpes and the cobbles of the North. There are some pretty nice bikes (though you guys will be super critical I'm sure) and old school team kits going about. There are also some very interesting current and ex pro cyclists on the project both as members of the cast and in advisory roles so if you fancy getting involved you should drop Beatrice a line.
There will be a stupidly early start then a lot if waiting around then a lot if being shouted at but hey, that's showbiz and it will be good fun.

Thought I would share a recent experience in South London. I approached a traffic light as it was turning red. I stopped then had a little breather. I then watched the lights until they went green then I pushed off with my left foot to get a little momentum and started pedaling then continued on my journey.
