Anyway, my 61cm condor pista got nicked from outside my flat last night about 8pm in Meath House Herne Hill beside the prince regent pub. Will post pics when I get home tonight but until then just wondering if folks could keep their eyes peeled around town for the next few days.

I would say put it on for what you paid with an honest explanation or close the post and put it on Ebay. Otherwise you are not playing by the forum rules which believe you me will not be forgotten round here quickly especially next time you decide to sell something even if it is at a good price or for a legitimate reason. I sold a few things to someone earlier this year which they flipped straight away which really annoyed me. In conclusion.....don't be a div.

so you don't know any dop's or production companies?
i have a few photography mates and we loan each other kit all the time, a photographer/director i know borrows the production companies house 5DII (as do the other directors/dop's) all the time.

maybe you need to make more friends in your industry or talk to the hire companies for a freebie.

My regular DoP has his 5D out on a job at the moment as an insert camera, the other DoP has also got his on a shoot out in Peru and my other couple of colleagues who are own them are either using theirs today on jobs or are working so i cannot get the kit from them. Believe you me i have been trying everyone i can. I also got 2 weeks rental of an EX3 for £300 from the rental house that we use for feature films which was already such a generous thing for them to do that i did not want to ask to borrow anymore kit from them. Unfortunately i do mostly feature films so therefore do not know so many people in production companies so did not really have that although if i wanted to shoot tonight on 35mm i could have gone to Panavision and got a Millenium and a set of Primos quite easily.

No it probably isn't going to happen but i thought i would try here as we are a vaguely like minded bunch of folks and i have done a few favours to people on the forum over the last month or so so thought i would try.

Unfortunately when you do something like this funded soley by sponsorship your sponsors do demand a lot of placement. Keep an eye on the website later in the week when we post the pics of the final works up, they are impressive and much less corporate!

Personally i work professionally as a film clapper loader and this is my 1st little shooting job and the 'client' are very good friends of mine in glasgow who run an independent gallery (www.recoatdesign.com). We are all doing it for favours to them and therefore i spent my whole budget (£300) on renting my gear for the main shoot and now one of the artists has casually said he wants tonight filmed and i have returned the camera to the rental house so am in a bit of a spot really.

I am no fan of blagging (especially when it is £1500 of camera) but sometimes need must.

I think i might have de-railed this thread into a 'how cool is Omar' discussion.

Now normally i am all up for wire appreciation as well but it is not solving my need for a camera for this evening so lets refocus and see if anyone can please help me out!

Hey all

I need to borrow a canon 5Dmk2 or 7D kit for the evening to film a pickup day for a wee doco i have just shot following the Fools Gold street art tour around Europe for the last week
check out wwww.foolsgoldtour.com for what we have done so far. One of the artists is doing another paint in Portobello tonight and wants it shot but i have already returned the camera i had for the shoot.

If anyone can help me out i need it from about 5 and can return 1st thing in morning alternatively any sort of reasonable quality HD camcorder would get me out of this hole.

^ it must have had a coaster brake,,surely.

You would hope so but i don't think there was, i could not see anything on the back wheel that seemed to be connected to the chainstay which i think a coaster brake must have and also when he started riding he used his left foot as a brake straight away as he weaved off into rush hour. Total idiot and without making a sweeping generalistaion he looked like he had just been spewed up upon by american apparel so maybe he normally just pushes it around as an accessory!
