I live locally, going to pick it up tomorrow. No idea what I'm going to do with it, I have a 5 year old boy and a short wife. It's definitely too small for the boy and my wife couldn't give a shit about bikes...

It was supposed to be washed at 40C, it was washed by hand in cold water, apparently.
The seller seems to say that because the label says 40C you must wash it at 40C and not in cold water.
This is patently bollocks - the temperature on the label is the maximum recommended, not the exact temperature the garment must be washed at. To say that an item with a 40C machine wash label cannot be hand washed in cold water is laughable.
You would think someone who makes their living retailing clothes would at least be aware of basic care instructions. The buyer may well actually be at fault, if for example they haven't told the truth (I wouldn't know either way), but the seller comes out looking at best incompetent and at worst, dishonest.

I've had too many lucky escapes nowadays to not wear one.
- Coming down a hill (Headington in oxford), late for a meeting, had a tie in a plastic bag which came in contact with the front wheel. I was going hell for leather, as was a bit late. and flew. Luckily i knew how to fall, and walked away with only skin abrasions.
Serious question: Where/how do I learn how to fall?

I saw a cyclist at a light who had to explain to a black cab driver why he was not using the cycle lane (the shit bit on Queenstown Road to Chelsea Bridge with a bus stop, pot holes, trees and road signs in the middle of it). He laughed at the driver's silly question and said "it is very dirty like you I prefer to use the smooth road".
Did he mean "It is very dirty. Like you, I prefer to use the smooth road."
Or did he mean "It is very dirty, like you. I prefer to use the smooth road."

It's another left filtering cycle lane and ASL combo :(
Isn't that the approach from Clerkenwell? If it's a left turn from Old Street onto Goswell, I think it's this side of the junction:
Terrible news :( Went through there just the other day. Since reading the various postings on here about lorries I am sh1t scared of them and try to avoid being anywhere near them at junctions.

Hi all, I'm new to fixed/ss. Bought a Specialized Tricross single speed a couple of weeks ago from this very forum, which I'm using to commute round London. It has no fixed gear at the moment, toying with the idea of fitting one, but wondering how the hell you go around tight corners if you can't hold the inside pedal up!
Still, I expect the search function will help me...

I'm sorted now
First post, so hope you'll be gentle with me.
Am looking for a Tricross Singlecross, 56cm frame. Am 6' tall with 32"-33" inside leg if a 54 or 58 would suit better?
Does anyone who bought in the sales last year want to sell now the honeymoon period is over?
It's for commuting, half in Peterborough, half in London. The commute is mostly on road or tarmac bike path, with the occasional hop up a very shallow kerb. I've considered a number of alternatives: Langster, Charge Plug, On One il Pompino, SE Lager, Genesis Flyer, but none of them float my boat as much as the Tricross, or appear to suit my commuting needs as well (full mudguards mainly).
One more thing, I'd need the top brake levers to be intact.
Thanks :)
I built up an On One Scandal SS recently using their slot dropout frame. It's turned out to be a nice bike. Very light. One thing to be aware of if planning to use disc brakes is that the On One frames (pretty sure this applies to the Inbred frame as well) have the brake mount on the chainstay, rather than the seatstay. This means that the hose is routed along the downtube/chainstay, instead of top tube/seatstay. As a result you need longer hoses. Also, there are reports of some brakes not fitting into the space between the chain and seat stays, and On One were less than helpful when I asked them which brakes would fit.
I built the frame up with Avid Juicy 3 brakes which I bought second hand (but never used) from a guy on Singletrackworld, which fitted comfortably (1300mm hoses in my case for the large frame). Also Mavic Crossride wheels, also bought unused second hand on STW. I had most of the rest in stock, including some Reba forks, Race Face Turbine cranks (square taper), carbon bars etc. Ended with a 21lb build, inclusive of pedals and tyre air. 32/16 ratio.
