i have been on here for a while now and thought id just say hello, im from bristol and have been riding/building mountain bikes for most of my teen life and since i have started working i have been getting more and more annoyed with public transport so decided to build up a bike, i finished biulding it about a month ago now and im really pleased with it i got most of the bits for it of the trackdropouts.com bristol fixed gear forum and it was a big help. this forum is real good and the ammount of banter passes my long days at work :P.

that bike is flippin lovley, black chain ring would complete it perfectly.

hydrulics all the way, no comparison imo but then again depends what and how serious your going to ride

I'd even go so far as to say that this bolt on setup is probably stronger than the conventional lock ring setup.

Does anybody know if replacement solid axles for front hope mtb hubs are commonly available? I think I might like to try this disc hub malarkey out.

yeah probably as they are top of the range for mtb hubs but depends on what hub it is, a hope hub set up would be pimpin!

from my experience with downhill bikes and the forces put through discs the strength is no way a issue, i was running 200mm rotors at one point and had no problems at all and other times running a few bolts less and again still had no problems. if i had a disc mount cog set up i would bet my life that it would never break.

i have to say this is probs the most agressive forum i have been on haha, but it doesent really matter to me as i dont post much i just sit back and laugh at the banter.

those bars would be good for taking out pedestrians or wing mirrors of cocky drivers that just cut you up haha,

this bike is not porn purly for how shit it rides, a mate used to have one (have no idea why) and it rode like utter shite, the linkage is such a poor design too as when you get near full compression on the rear the bar that curves around the back wheel actually rubs on the tyre!

i like this and the machanism for attaching the membrane is good, it would be better if it dident have the intergrated seat post but just the rails for attaching a normal seat post, have you made any prototypes fully out of aluminium?

only 2 of these where made for the honda g cross downhill racing team and they where both destroyed when honda pulled out of the sponsership.
