i have now sorted this :), when i got home i took the chain off cleaned it and then soaked it in some finishline wet lube and also cleaned off all the shite from the chain ring and cog then refitted the chain, i relised i had a huge diffrence in chain tension when fitting the chain so i sorted that not in the gracfull sheldon brown way by tapping with a spanner but with twating the chain ring with a wooden malled and that sorted it nicly, then went for a little ride wiped all the excess lube off and hey presto! quiet at a mouse again :D

Hi all
i have recently changed my rear cog from a no make 16t to a dura ace 15t and now my chains overly loud? i have sorted out my chain line to near perfect by using washers behind my chain ring and have tried diffrent lubes but the noise is still there! are dura ace cogs known for being loud? i really dont know...

humm well in that case i do not have a clue!
but from reading your posts on this thread again its sounds alot like when your tightning the tracknuts the axel is slipping causing the cones to loosen... check the thread in the track nuts and the axel. could be the tracknut griping the axel where theres a burr or lots of dirt in the thread, thats the only thing i can think of tbh

lmao i have dont this before but when i was a novice working at a bike shop, it scared the living crap out of me. i also got coved in white dust from the huge gash in the inner tube so i was pasty with white dust with ringing ears with my eye lids wide open and shakeing like a leaf, i bet i looked like a ghost on ectascy.
