I've been following this thread for quite some time now and the stories here truly amaze me.
I come from a rather safe city (Munich that is) and the fact that thieving cnuts feel comfortable enough to enter your houses and secured backyards and use powertools etc is just astonishing.

I keep reading "I'll check bricklane on sundays" once your bike was stolen.
That place seems to be THE spot for selling and buying stolen goods and fuck knows what's going on there besides that, but it seems to be an open secret and everyone knows about that but the police?! Why don't they go there and just blow the whistle on that place?

Also what's all the CCTV for? For some voyeurs amusement? Because that doesn't seem to be of any help in your cases aswell..

The police and the law seems far too careless about this situation..

I visited London only once, but the way some bikes were locked up, and you obviously need to do that, is just ridiculous: multiple D-Locks, cables, quick released seats etc.
I feel pity for you how this affects your personal freedom if you know what I mean

You all should go about that really..organize a demo or sth.
