Holdsworth themselves were not averse to doing the same thing. 2 great names of the past, Claud Butler and Freddie Grubb lived on as badge-engineered Holdsworth frames in the 1970s.
quite...
for the record i thinks its
*over-priced
*gorgeous
*probably a lovely frame.....its built in Taiwan ( i guess)...so in all likelihood of far superior build quality/finish to anything British built.... -

Watch out that the cycle to work isn't quite the bargain you think it is. I believe they've (HMRC) changed it this year so at the end of your year paying monthly it's no longer just a £20 final payment, closer to a £250 one.
I heard about this a while ago so it'd be worth checking, it would almost negate the point of buying one (if you couldn't get the exact one you wanted).

That link is showing the Record as a road frame. Do you want a road frame with gears or a fixed frame?
+1 to the 2nd hand option. Provided the frame is in decent knick it's almost always the way to go.
If I was going to get any of those PXs it would be this:
£1,400 to £200. bargain.
christ that is a good deal!

Hi all,
Does anyone on this forum ride one, or has any experience with these?
.ive got the strada road version, and i love it....mine came with a dura ace h/set, though it looks like it doesnt anymore...
still, £300's pretty good eh?
rides really nice, as yould expect from steel...feels super "sprightly"/nice fast geometry....built mine with SRAM force/ultegra hubs on open pro's/dura ace stem and seatpin....just over 20 pounds in weight from memory...only gripe is the paint - its a nice finish, but not too durable
dont see too many around, always gets good remarks....

...why worry about the price if youre getting the cyclescheme (40% ? ) discount, plus its spread over 12 months.....buy cheap/buy twice
genesis looks nicest to me, will retain most residual value if you want to resell too....felt looks good but i have no experience of the microshift STI's ( though their flat bar shifters are crap! - imho )....best sticking with SRAM or Shimano in my book...Claud Butlers probably surprisingly ok
Claud Butler owned by Falcon...not greatsets warranty back up in my experience...Felt i know very litttle about...guessing Genesis will have the best warranty back up
does it get sent out direct to you in a box? if so probably worth getting a decent LBS to give it a go over/tune/PDI prior to riding ( if youre not confident/experienced to do so yourself...)...most interweb bikes seem to be built by idiots in my experience
wouldnt worry to much about square taper bb....if youre lucky itll be a shimano...should get 18 months at least out of it and theyre cheap to replace....
doubt theres much differnce in frame quality between all 3...at a guess the CB will be chinese or vietnamese, the other too will be taiwanese and slightly better build and finish quality...go with the Genesis!
