We had a wood floor installed around our existing kitchen. Trimming the plinth neatly is the main drawback, and it would mean cutting tiles or planning tiles to butt up against those places where the kitchen meets the floor. There is also a risk of damage to cabinets. Our guys were careful and we knew our existing kitchen wouldn't be perfect.
If you've got tiles then I wonder if there is a way to remove the current tiles where your new kitchen will meet the floor and install a temporary/semi-perm spacer. That way you minimise damage to the cabinets touching the floor, and give flexibility for tile size/layout etc. so it visually can flow under the cabinets.
Maybe also ask in the diy thread. Or would @Airhead have any ideas?
All that said tilers are used to working around objects. So doing it later is by no means insurmountable.

M1 MBA are ~£400 on ebay and £500 on CEX.
If money is really that tight that you can't stretch to £400 and it is just word processing, then I'd get a used small chromebook or put Ubuntu on a small cheap windows laptop. If you ask friends and family you might get something free. I'm sure if you post a wanted ad here and spam the pc thread you'd get something for <£100.
It strikes me as a false economy to spend more than £100 unless you spend the ~£400 on an MI MBA. Especially as you do have a working laptop, albeit not the one you want. #2p

Bedroom mirror needs a clean. But I got all my suits out. Well the ones here. I've managed to convince my folks to house a few too...anyway I realised the bargain summer linen suit is a sort of light blue and informal. So tried that with the thick pink t, and I'm happy enough with that.
Trousers are absolutely holding on for dear life, but the tshirt hangs over.
Stuck for shoes so despite my intense dislike of them, I was going to grab some black loafers. Logic being:
- it's still an evening thing
- the belt I want to use is black
- black will get more use than novelty ones
- brown shoes will look too "brown and blue wedding suit"
Any suggestions for socks? As for loafers I think I'll need a new pair.

Got Google Play to work by downloading and setting up Nova Launcher, then retrying Google Play.
Don't have the patience this time around to strip everything off the way I did with my eldest's. Which tbh was a bit of a faff. However, I think that one had the ads on the lock screen so I wanted it clear.
Annoyingly when you swipe up from the recent apps you can still see all the amazon shit they put on the home screen.
Irl it's so fucking jarring! I guess that's why they're so cheap. But fuck me using one with the default setup would be awful. -
Got another Fire for one of the kids. But it's been so long since I did the Fire toolbox install (and I've only done it once to the other two) that I didn't think to read the guide online and I've already linked the tablet to my account.
Has anyone used the Fire Toolbox recently?
What I'm after is;
- Confirmation of a safe place to download the most upto date version (mine is v32.2)
- Whether it is that critical that I do the set up on a clean tablet
- If yes to 2. How best to wipe it and start again?
- What is the significance of OTA Updates and do I care?
Cheers

Could do with some help as I'm really struggling with my Xmas party outfit
I've put on weight this year so am not hopeful about fitting into my DJ. Also the theme is 80s Miami.
I don't want to spend loads of money, nor do I want to look like a cunt. Basically what are my low key options to blend in? Not as many people as I'd expected wore DJ's last year. So I was wondering about a suit. But I don't want to buy an evening suit when I'll have no other use. I was wondering about either trying to get some pleated trousers and some form of jacket, or a pink bow tie and force myself into my DJ.
What are my options?
I have a bricks and mortar big M&S a short drive which is open late - so this would be the ideal. I'll be in Canary Wharf one day too.

Cheers.
Was ill most of last week, had a days leave yesterday went to the gym and was feeling great around so thought I'd try and live a bit healthier including reducing my caffeine intake.
Clearly a bad move.
Will have an espresso and pop some proplus up my bum for some slow release to manage the withdrawal.

How did your skin improve?
Clearer looking with no blemishes or spots. Although my skin is generally pretty good so we're talking about going from an 8 to a 10, rather than a huge change.
Funny this topic has come up because I keep getting headaches at the moment and I wonder if I'm not drinking enough. Or possibly because I'm not drinking my normal 4-5 coffees🤷

Load up alix and it's done that annoying thing where I must have clicked on a link from one of the Dutch users on here and set me to NL. Which is a fucker, because it took me forever to get rid of the FR one.
But also it's decided that I need a specific cup to catch my jizz. I know this we can get OTT with having specific kit for every task, but a dedicated cum vessel seems a step too far.

Mk6 Golf 1.4tsi seems to be using more oil as time goes on.
Is this just the way OF small turboed VAG's? (it's using much less than some of the other horror stories you get online). But just want to be sure it's not indicative of anything else.
There is what looks like oil debris around what I think is the turbo.
Also is there a good safe way to seal a small oil bottle? Our oil is from a big multi litre bottle, so wondering about decanting some into an oil small bottle for emergencies over Xmas.
Before it gets too cold you should cut steps in the back and build a small kicker ramp next to the bottom at the front.
Then if it goes below 0° and or we get snow you can use it to sledge or snowboard down and catch air.
