i've a 74 mercian track frame, same forks and drilled too,i understand from geoff at mercian thats the way they came...
Sure it's the way they came. But orders from now and than you just had to say no bunghole please...thats it...

got a bunghole too...Know this from Condor frames. They used to have one brake at front for roadcyclingtimetrailing...

And at the untouched owner. I do piss golden Rossintrackframes anytime...so doesn't matter if it's a small fortune or just o pot dairy milk...everything is relative...yeah and it is drilled anyway thats not relative ;)
