The best way to store the energy is to pump it back into the national grid taking advantage of government subsidies to effectively offeset your normal usage. Therefore you energy is used by someone else but you get the benefits... You may even be able to apply for a local authority grant to offset the additional costs - not sure if you could stretch it to a custom built frame as this would be more efficiant for energy production though....
New regulation coming in next year will also mean you get money fo the amount of generation you have regardless of how much you produce back to the grid to incentivise people to invest in microgen

I work for one of the big bad energy companies - will runt he idea of fattie power stations past my boss
Would love one of the rigs set up more efficiently than 25 percent for my house.
Anyone know if directly driving the motor rather than transfer through the tyre and better setup bikes would do the job?

Was riding on town on saturday and spotted a nice brakeless mercian with spinergy front wheel.
parked up next to it by vodafone... Mine was the baby blue and cream.Rode calshot on sunday which was crazy... had 11 novice riders doing a scratch race at the end of the session - no idea what was going on... back again for another go in may...

After going on a pub ride and having the tatiest looking bike there it was out with the rattle cans and a couple of new shiney bits to turn it from a rusty old heap, to something a little kinder on the eye.
Makes my commute to work all the better...
Some new wheels on there way to complete in time for going round the track at Calshot.

stuck a post on about the theft.
Bike from skip - not exactly theif material...
Stinks a bit of bandwagon jumping - we have this sort of thing at work all the time...
"Lets promote cycling - yeah - oh you really use your bike and want some facilities at work to keep it safe, get changed - what you travel more than a mile on it... Woooah hold on thats not what we were talking about.. We want to offer you a leaflet about safer cycling, and tick our box on corporate responsibility"
Got some showers now though people seem to use it as a dumping ground and at least i dont stink at my desk anymore.

Riding over from Maidenhead to Bourne End with some mates then onto Marlow on thursday evening just to have a few beers.. Not really a night ride but any welcome.
Will be doing some longer rides once it gets a bit warmer and heading off towards some good pubs over towards watlington.

Hello,
I think the form is to introduce yourself first so here goes:
I live out west of london near the chilterns so have a fair few hills round here so mostly ride my singlespeed mtb and geared road bike - but got given (well for £20) my first fixed wheel bike last november.
Will post some pics when i get round to taking some.
its a really old (70s/80s) - far too big for me - odd sized wheels - Raleigh Carlton in purple
Genius - use it now for commuting 30mile round trip, pub rides - coming down off the chilterns from the pub in the dark has been interesting a few times.
Hopefully catch some of you on some of the london events as they are not far on the train or if anyone is out this way up in the hills would welcome some rides.

will be there with a couple of mates - we are training into london somewhere from beaconsfield after riding there from not too far away and then riding across london to the start
then luckily the wags are driving across for a girls night out to give us a cosy lift home after breccie
Looking forward to it - this will be the furthest ive riden on fixed after the chiltern 100 last year, just getting some miles in to and from work and working out what gear to use
