This sunny afternoon, Islington. I ride at leisurely pace when I hear a police siren behind me. I slow down a bit, next thing I know a police car is turning left at speed (right in front of me), I brake hard but hit its side nonetheless. The coppers stop the vehicule and ask me if I am OK. Then they apologize, enquire about the bike and potential damage. I tell them the front wheel did not hit their car too hard but they certainly should be a bit more careful in the future. They took my details and called a colleague to inform him they won't be at their intended destination and why.
As the driver was truly apologetic and owning up to his mistake and I or my bike didn't suffer any damage things did not go any further and we parted ways.
Retrospectively I'm wondering if I have been too nice too the guy, if I should have told him off more vehemently. -

Thing that irritates me about cycling to work is how the squaw do you keep a shirt flat in your satchel? Trousers work fine but shirts come out making you look like a domestic incompetent. Someone needs to invent a device that you can pack an ironed shirt into and then put it into a satchel. How hard can that be?
In the meantime, anyone got any clever ideas for avoiding bag-related creases?
What you need is a slightly damp shirt (a gardening water spray works fine). Your body heat will de-crease the shirt while drying it.

It's a bit vain but I want that grey frame. There's my name on it! Probably from Cycles Laurent in Paris. -
Is there anyone here that has a bad experience with Aliums?
I've been using them for several months and my right foot is still pretty hard to engage and doesn't 'click' as the left one does. Basically the left one is everything one can expect and the RIGHT one isn't. The right foot cleat is not as worn in as the left one, but I doubt that's enough to explain why.
Any thoughts? -
Maybe you need a AYHSMB rim?
