Well they're not light for a start, also they won't get anywhere...

A cargobike does not have to be heavy (see below, that was my first set-up). For a while I had a Bulldog seat (classic Danish TT mounted one), it does get in the way a little but having your kid so close is very nice otherwise.

Probably not in our lifetime tbh...

I used to run Grand Bois in that size (with tubes), they're nice and supple.

The few of us who went down that route used the webbing. It provides a little bit of suspension and friction.

The Mini-Max is a little bumpier than the Cargo. I waited a bit (12 months IIRC) then just strapped the stroller top on the rack with a couple of innertubes, it's a but bulkier than a car seat, but it meant I could use rain cover and winter inserts. One of my colleagues started younger on his MM, car seat, strapped.

I'll check them out, they've popped in my searches before actually. Since the rain is always a possibility here perhaps synthetic is not that bad after all...

If you need a hotel near Porta Nuova Hotel Urbani is a very decent option. I'll leave the local tips to @Marcootsee but Torino is well worth the visit IMHO.
