I’ve built this up mainly with parts that came on the Cyfac I recently bought and rebuilt (see other thread) so it’s very much a mix! All of the groupset is Shimano, but from across a wide range of eras!!
The frame is interesting - lovely fillet brazed Columbus Nemo with a Columbus Muscle carbon rear and bonded in. When I got hold of the frame it had a set of carbon forks with it but they were a bit shot, as was the headset, so I spent a bit of time looking around for alternatives.
I settled on a Stronglight needle bearing aheadset from SJS and sourced a set of brand new Columbus chrome threadless forks from Condor - these blew the budget a bit (costing more than I spent on the rest of the build!) and some might frown at the chrome rather than carbon to match the rear - but I’m a big fan of nice springy steel forks and I fancied giving these a go - in the end, I think it looks ok.
Anyhow, splitting for sale.
The full build and prices:
Bob Jackson ‘Nemo frame. Columbus Muscle carbon rear end. Good condition. .It’s 56xm horizontal c to c on the top tube and 55cm c to ce on the seat tube (57.5cm to top of the slightly extended tube) £245
Condor Columbus chrome 1” threadless forks, brand new only fitted for one ride. and now will be removed. £225 (cost me £309)
Stronglight needle bearing headset £18
Shimano Dura Ace 7400 (1st generation) 8 speed STI shifters £100
dura Ace 7400 front mech £20
Ultegra 6500 rear mech £20
Sun tour chainset with Middleburn 53 outer and new Suntoyr 39 inner. Inc VP sq taper bb in great condition. £35
Level (Ribble) seatpost 27.2 £12
Ultegra 6700 10 speed hubs on DT Swiss rims. Super condition. £100In some ways the mixed groupset shouldn’t work - 8 speed shifters and front mech, 10 speed hub, 8 speed cassette, 9 speed rear mech and 11 speed chainset!! But actually, it works perfectly if you’d like to use them together.
Bike is in Cheshire so ideally need postage covered. Ideally would like to sell frame and forks first. Will also sell complete.

Thanks!
That's a great shout on the silver seatpost - I think you're right there - ref the cranks - I've got some nice looking SunTour ones that came with the Cyfac but they are 53-39 and my legs aren't up to that anymore, hence using the 105's (which I already had in the garage) - again, I reckon you're right that silver would look better!

In terms of parts, the full build is:
Bob Jackson ‘Nemo frame
Condor Columbus chrome threadless forks
Stronglight needle bearing headset
Shimano Dura Ace 7400 (1st generation) 8 speed STI shifters
dura Ace 7400 front mech
Ultegra 6500 rear mech
105 5800 cranks
Ultegra BB
Level (Ribble) seatpost
Unbranded silver bars and stem
Brooks c17 saddle
Ultegra 6700 hubs on DT Swiss rims with Shimano 8 speed cassette
Conti Ultrasport tyresIn some ways the mixed groupset shouldn’t work - 8 speed shifters and front mech, 10 speed hub, 8 speed cassette, 9 speed rear mech and 11 speed chainset!! But actually, it works perfectly.
One thing that’s struck me in building this is the quality of those 7400 shifters - all metal parts and feel much more “solid” that todays models - incredibly easy to set up too.
The frame geometry is interesting - it’s a very “tall” bike with a super high BB and therefore v high stand over for a frame of this size - almost like a track frame - it would have been a custom order when new so the person buying it must have had their reasons….pedal clearance for crits maybe?
Anyhow, here’s some pics:

@johnnettles2 - yes, I believe this one was c €3k for the frameset! I know that’s hard to justify, but the craftsmanship is superb 👍

@johnnettles2 - that looks lovely - I’m so pleased with mine it’s gone straight to the top of my “Sunday best” list! 😀👍

I picked this up locally via FB marketplace - it’s absolutely stunning and rides beautifully
It came with an eclectic mix of parts including Dura Ace 7400 sti’s and front mech, Ultegra 6700 hubs, Sugino cranks - all working really nicely
I couldn’t believe the condition when I picked it up - there isn’t a mark on the frame
I’m going to use a modern Ultegra groupset on it with some Hope hubbed wheels, Zipp bars and a Brooks C17 - should have it ready for a ride tomorrow!!

These are 170mm and all threads are good - I’m not sure what model as they’ve been polished at some point in their life and have lost their logos - I think from the shape they are Superbe Pro but I don’t know for sure and the stamps on the back give nothing away!
Nice Middle urn outer ring and a Sugino inner that looks new.
Includes sq taper bottom bracket to suit in excellent condition, running very smooth, and a pair of crank bolts
£35 inc postage from Cheshire

Taken off a bike in super condition but with a broken seat stay, no crash damage, so these are in great condition.
Steerer is straight 11/8th” but with an oversize race fitted (frame had oversize bottom bearing) - I have the Ritchey headset that I’ll throw in if needed
£35 posted from Cheshire (bargain as I just don’t have a use for them!)
This is superb - really light and runs totally silent - it’s a lovely thing - a few scratches and the paint is sadly crazed all over but it doesn’t take away from Andy’s handywork - the lugs and finer details are gorgeous - I have a link to Andy’s Flickr pages showing the original frame build too.
It’s a Medium (about 17”) frame and most components are as Andy built it:
Rockshox Reba forks
Superstar built SS specific wheels, 26” rims
Middleburn cranks
Brand new Clark’s M3 brakes
RaceFace bars
Thompson layback post
Charge spoon saddle
No pedals included.
