Thing that irritates me about cycling to work is how the squaw do you keep a shirt flat in your satchel? Trousers work fine but shirts come out making you look like a domestic incompetent. Someone needs to invent a device that you can pack an ironed shirt into and then put it into a satchel. How hard can that be?

In the meantime, anyone got any clever ideas for avoiding bag-related creases?

Its possible to fold an ironed shirt to about A4 size without it looking messy when you unfold it. I can do it, my girlfriend used to work in a posh clothes shop which is where she learnt it, and then told me.

There were a couple of threads about french BB's recently (one was started by me).
I just ordered some french thread cups from st john street cycles (sjs cycles) so it is possible to get them still, albeit sporadically, there is also a NOS sealed bottom bracket (with french threads) on ebay now, if you can use the super long axle....

that's it. no more from me. Damed if your getting this you bully after this stunt.

i dont know that i ever wanted to be a hipster, but being a 20ish year old bloke i wear certain clothes that are of my time. my legs are also geting too big for skinny jeans. i started my adult cycling on bikes with only one gear.

when i started i just wore my normal clothes, but these days im wearing more and more cycling specific stuff and my bikes are becoming more sensible. i think its mainly becuase my cycling knowledge and experience has vastly increased. i might even give racing a go next year.

i dont have a geared road bike, but am planing on purchasing one in the near future. im starting to wonder if ill ride my fixed and SS bikes much when that happens.

originally looked for cycling specific stuff that i could wear anyway anywhere (like my swrve jacket) but i'm increasingly drawn towards techinal clothing and wanting to escape on a geared bike for days on end with a some panniers.

sometimes climbing seems fun and a good way to excersise but it looks well pricey.

yup. usea mallet so it doesn't get damaged. don't use the top cap, just the nut from it once the star nut is in, or it might get scratched or something.

I think once the star nut is in, it isn't ever coming out in one piece. thats kinda the point.

Think the star spangled bit needs to be maybe 10mm in the steerer tube, I think anyway, I hammered the star spangled bit in first, then put the nut almost all the way (so it didn't bend) then hit that a bit to push the whole thing further in.

I do have that obsession over bits, just no money to back it up.
