Hi Johnboy
I'm in KL - and the founder and only lfgss member of the Kings Lynn chapter! Welcome.
Was that your fixed I spotted parked outside the Lloyds Bank in the Market Place yesterday afternoon (Friday 4)?
(Purple frame, white rims I think)I do ride fixed sometimes 1953 Claud Butler Lime Green, blue mudguards, but also geared 1982
white Holdsworth, sometimes 1924 black (they were all black) Sunbeam, 'speaks in whisper' red alloy framed Ambrosio. What are you doing here for 1 year, and where are you staying?
Rides out early on most Sunday mornings, sometimes night ride.
-
Hi Clubman.
You are setting the bar high as 'something to aspire to'.
I've a 1924 Sunbeam, 2 speed epi-cyclic(?) gears (in the chainwheel), oil bath chain case.
My first ride out was a 40 miler around some of the lanes of North Norfolk. At the end I felt equal as if I had ridden 40 on the Holdsworth.
Good luck to you in your quest.

Well Hello HotPro, and thanks for your reply to my request.
I was unable to PM you.
I already had a response from another LFGSS forum member and he has asked the e bay seller, (in German language of course) about shipping.
The response was that the seller will not ship outside of Germany, let alone to England.
So, this may be a matter of tax or similar, but now we will never know the actual reason.
Many, many thanks for your reply to my request for help.
If I can help you anytime, please contact me.
Kind Regards. -
Firstly, this is not a scam, hoax or ruse, but an honest request for help to get an e bay item back from Germany.
Basically, the item that I want comes up in the UK very infrequently and new pattern items are horrendously expensive.
The guy selling the item has specifically stated that he will not ship to the UK. Don't know why. He does not give a reason.
So, I'm looking for somebody in Germany, France, Holland, Denmark etc to be the receiving address if I win (hopefully) the item.
I will bid and pay for the item, but would like to use your address for him to ship to.
Then depending on the shipping cost from you to me in the UK, I can paypal or BACS direct transfer this to you.
If somebody can help, please PM me and we can discuss.
Auction ends on Saturday, so I have a few days to sort out.
Thanks.

Registration is a 30-45 minute period on the 26th. Don't think we can do it as a group, probably some sort of limit on number of tickets per person, not been announced yet. We need to be organised and all get some tickets. Probably best for people to send reminder texts/phone calls on the day, whip up some activity!
Norfolk Chapter - Kings Lynn Calling.....
I'll be travelling by train to either Liverpool Street or Kings Cross. Probably solo like Tweed Run 2009 and 2010. I'll be the chap in a tweed jacket with a bike. Look out for me chaps.
By the way, I think that registration is probably open for longer, BUT all the places (400) for Tweed Run 2010 went in 45 mins.
Toodle Pip.

Why, Thank you Sir.
Makes the bag more useful than a 2 handled carrier bag. Also, its a conversation starter!
I searched for ages to find that 'long' pump, and success a NOS one turned up.
Also, notice the machined 'flute' down the Shimano #600 crank, and leather covered saddle to match leather handlegrips...?
-
Yeah, the goody bag that came with your registration pack! You know, the cotton bag with bits and bats in side. Can't actually remember what was in there now, but I'm still using the bag for nipping to the off licence!
My cotton bag is now a musette!!
(Key: Remove 2 handles, sew together, refix to bag to make over the shoulder loop.)

Its in the diary.
Got the 'heads up' from Spudger on this.
Also saw it on www.bikejumble.co.uk. Now that a quirky (but good information) website.

Peter Sarstedt - Well I was 12 when that was hit and a favourite. Have not heard that for years. Wonderful.
Tweeding today - Keeping up appearances!
Went out for 24 mile ride out on the Claud B, fixed. Just had to wear grey flannel plus two's, brouges, waistcoat. Going to have to make this a Saturday tradition.
Yep, downloaded strava this afternoon.
Set it up when I left todays workplace and let it run whilst I drove home - 50 mins etc, etc.
No elevations though. (Non existent in East Anglia)
Looks good, simple to use etc.
