I don't remember the last time I used Oxford Street for an East-West or West-East journey given there's a far better spine to the north underneath the Post Office tower without risk of hitting pedestrians randomly stepping out into the road.
So despite grabbing a headline here, it's not a big deal imo
Maybe this might force the issue of improving provision to the South? Which I guess is the Shaftesbury Avenue/Piccadilly corridor, but again sheer pedestrian/traffic volume around there makes it a slightly stressful journey and potentially unrealistic.

I emailed them 3 days ago in English and in Spanish, and nothing back yet. So hedging bets slightly 😬
Last year's TPR had a bag drop, this year's doesn't. My Ibis last year was all set to take my bags etc, until they realised that about 30 riders were staying in the hotel trying to stash bike boxes etc and they threw their toys out of the pram and said no one could.
So slightly mitigating against that happening again.

I generally ride through as it's crap sleep, or just do an hour in a bus stop.
If I were DIYing a 400 then I quite like starting at 10pm as it means there's a good chance of finishing with a victory pint the night after, plus if I end up napping it'll be in daylight rather than shivering in a lane somewhere.

Went to Oma a few weeks back, great vegetarian options. Definitely get the spanakopita and breads, I'd be tempted to say order two it's that good.

I'd suggest doing 'less is more'with the rhythm so that when it drops away there's not such a gaping hole. More space is going to be easier than 'try and over compensate for no rhythm guitarist or keys'
That kind of blurring chords into lead lines playing is done really well by people like Graham Coxon and Pete Townsend even if you dislike their respective bands, even early U2 worth cribbing from.
Ripping in with 25 effects pedals to try and fill the sound during those moments isn't generally the best approach, assuming you're not in Slowdive
Even Zep were a great power trio ruined by a vocalist ;)

Right next to the station too... !
Agree with the point above - audaxing north of London is much better if you get the train to Not London first.
Or start your DIY route from your house nice and early in the day, finish it in a small town with a station and a decent pub about 20km north of London and get the train home.

I fancy it just the prospect of ice puts me off slightly - speaking as someone who's definitely owed a broken collarbone from all the ice crashing I've done and somehow got away with until now.
