Definitely come down next week although I'm not sure we can guarantee that you will 'just watch'. Even Murtle got sucked in to it and played a few games yesterday.
Shall do but most probably wont play seeing as I'm a one bicycle man atm and I like it too much to let you lot have at it with polo sticks. Might have to get myself a thrasher at some point. Will try and come down next week.

Yeah i mean it sticks out a little im pritty sure but relacing is going to desperatly depress me. The guy hasnt actualy started work on the bike yet so im guessing hes gunna have a nice chat with me telling me im gunna have to relace it. But i dont know if i can get away with riding it. Maybe i should just HTFU.

[Replace all reference to threading with lacing . . . It was a long day dont flame me] So I decided, with nothing but Sheldon's cryptic advice, to build myself a couple of wheels. Now after deciding on doing them two cross I started and the wheel was trued, tensioned and dished all nicely nicely with no majour problems.
Apart from one. Instead of doing them two cross I had done them single cross. On the other hand the wheels ran fine and they're actualy threaded correctly for my strange single cross method. I've done about 40-50 miles on them so far and they've started to come out of true (as they would on any new wheel) and I decided to take them to my local bike shop for a little MOT. The guy seemed suprised I'd ended up doing them single cross (I'd spoken to him about the wheels before) but had no real problem with me lacing them single cross apart from some shocked responses along the lines of 'Single Cross ... weird' and then said it was fine and he'd true them for me.
Now what I want to know is am I secretly signing my own death certificate by riding around on these things with spokes (that are actually supposed to be double cross but) that seem to be stable enough and fit well if not abit goofy. Ive decided to stay off the bike until ive sorted this which is just as well seeing as the weather is shit.

After blood, sweat and tears I've finally finished converting my Pashley from the ground up. Felt that doing it all myself was the only way to do it but boy have I had my fair share of frustration with it. Just had to bring it back from Italy so let me give it a little clean and I'll put the pictures up.

Ok two things
1) I recently baught a threaded fork which is just alittle too long for my bicycle at the top end (steerer or whatever its called). Do you think I can just get the old saw out and hack away at it for abit to make it the right length? Obviously don't want to damage the product beyond use.
2) Went to BLB to get the parts for my first wheel build and being abit of a novice at the whole build idea I just elt the guy do his thing and sort out the spoke lengths etc. After lacing the wheel for the first time it seems like (for both wheels) that they're too long because the nipples don't quite show through even after tightenning them abit. For example if i lie the wheel verticaly the nipples at the top show through but the ones at the bottom of the wheel disappear. Is this just a tightening issue or do I need to make the journey over to Brick Lane again top return them! (I'm a Westie! So long trip . .)Anyway thanks.
