i have 175 chrome profiles. ti flush bolts and sprocket bolt (yes its called a sprocket bolt if you ride bmx no need to bash me) non drive side is extremely tight and i just havnt bothered taking it off because there is no need. had them since new and i caked the anti seize on but it took some effort to get on. anyway, they are a bit scratched but solid (ridden on bmx). i may sell them for the right price. make me an offer. i can get pics soon

take off the bolt on the end, put a socket extension in the end, hit the extension with a hammer/mallet.
the tool is only for getting the cranks on, it can help get them off to a certain extent but in most cases its useless. and also the thread isnt very long on them so you will strip it or your spindle threads really easily. use my method and you will be trouble free.

TA does 58 chainrings, Hilary stone is selling some cranks with this chainring at the moment, otherwise try ebay
thanks for the heads up. i live in bristol aswell so ill message him about them
Does the hub take normal sturmey type sprockets?
nope, i wish it did though because i have a 13t cog that would fit it
HighPath do any tooth count you want or need, weird cut-outs, your name engraved, longer teeth to hold the chain better on SS/FG drivechains, super strong, super light, elliptical . . . etc . . . just about anything you want.
Obviously custom chain rings are more expensive but they are not too bad and they apparently last for much longer than a shop bought chainring.
they have a few beasts on the sale bit. thanks
thats more like it

Practise spinning faster and upping your cadence. After a while it will feel natural to spin twice as much. Better for you, too.
Depends what the bike's for, I guess.
how do i practice without rollers etc? i try when im cycling but i just forget (i do a lot of thinking while cycling to uni)
I'd just go for Max's option and up the cadence-much better for your knees and doesn't require USSR style quads.
well its a geared hub, but i did have that gearing singlespeed for a year without monster legs

so, i have just acquired a 2 speed kickback hub. the high gear is 1.1 and the low gear is something like 65%. the cog on the hub is 18t and that is the only size they are made in (there are some other doodads attached to it).
so, my question: i would like the ratio for the high gear to be 3.23 or as close to it as possible. therefore i need a 58t chainring. do they exist?
after reading a bit i found out that having a low cadence can destroy your knees so i changed my ratio down to 2.89 (52:18) and i just end up going slower because i stop thinking about my cadence. hopefully i dont have to have this as my high gear.

a beginner could hurt themselves in the dodgy icy condition during winter, if they are not expecting the lock-out/skidding these wheels make
for the sound of that post you are a hater. anyway, im going to put it out there that you will only skid if you want to. you have a massive amount of modulation with shimano ones. admittedly that other brand that slips my mind right now that most people recommend has much less modulation and is more on/off but you can still stop without skidding. and yes, i have been riding mine every day in the recent shitty snow and ice and havnt had a problem.
