Evening all - what are peoples thoughts/advice on cleaning electric burr grinders?
Bought a Cunill from @dsan in December 2013. Great piece of kit but not got the foggiest about how to clean it. Always cleaned my Porlex but have read all sorts online re: larger grinders from just leave it alone to using instant rice.

Having a clear out, would this be of use/interest to anyone? Collection in Welwyn, Hertfordshire or willing to post at cost. Can't imagine it would cost much as it's fairly light.

i find the notneutral cups (same as the rapha ones btw) tend to spill really easily where the handle curves over.
alternatively I like these...
Perfect Cappuccino 4 Two Gift Set (2 x Como 7oz/200ml cup & saucers): Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home
I have one not neutral and one of those 'como' cups from ronde cycle cafe in edinburgh that i got while on holiday and the ronde/como cup is the one I always use if I'm making a drink for just myself.
Cheers for heads up. Might give those a go having just smashed a mug last weekend....

Got my Aeropress from http://www.coffeehit.co.uk
Always had good service and quick delivery. As rhb mentioned i've heard stories of fakes cracking...

This plastic "turbofrother" steam wand on my GC is pissing me off now. It requires some skill just to stop milk turning in to a foam block.
Where's the best place to get a silvia wand at the moment?
Had the same issue...ended up pulling the turbofrother off and now just use the little plastic attachment on its own. Not sure if this is by the book or not but seem to be able to make fairly decent milk without turning it into a bubble bath.

there's been a mixup with one of my xmas pressies ordered from there and they've sent the wrong size milk jug (it's 66% bigger, much too big for home use) but it was down to a mislabelled box. fairly easy mistake to make.
I ordered my grinder from them though before and they were very good.
Used CoffeeHit a few times for aeropress, replacement burrs and a couple of cups and saucers (all on separate occasions). Would recommend them - service has always been good with prompt delivery :)
