For those of you who already have them do any of you ride in Skate shoes or shoes that don't tend to fit your foot particularly snugly? I was just wondering how they'd feel, like if your shoes have to be done up really tight to make your feet feel secure when pulling up. I'm going to try these after running clipless for a long time and really looking forward not horsing around spare fucking shoes all the time.
I think it depends on your pedal set-up velonoir. I'm using some V12s (which, tbh, I never had any problems slipping off, thanks to the shin-killer pins) and if I'm strapped up in loose skate shoes my foot will come straight out, leaving the shoes in place - invisible man stylee!
One answer (as I think has been posted elsewhere) is to remove some of the top-side pins so you can get in and out easier. However, I'm currently experimenting with securing my shoes ultra tight and ripping them in and out to see if they'll develop some grooves for easy access (V12s are pretty nifty at sole demolition).
The straps are great btw - although they are taking a bit of getting used to for weirdos like myself (I've just discovered I don't normally have my feet centered over the pedals but rather jammed up against the crank arms). The straps are forcing me out of this habit, so the q-factor suddenly seems a tad... ahem... Buster Gonad sized...

I believe the rattle is part of the movement sensor (mine is the same - probably a ball bearing to recognise when it's moved?).
If you having trouble arming it try putting some metal over the sensor manually - I was wondering how to set mine until I put a fork handle over the sensor and it armed itself!
I just received a Xena XZZ6 in the post, and I can't get it to arm/alarm. I wonder if it's broken. When I shake it it sounds like a bunch of loose debris is rattling around inside the alarm/battery pack. I think I'll have to return it. I'm very disappointed. I had pronounced it to friends and family as the future of any further bike security... and it's a dud...

What do you want for one of your hiding hoodies posted to the States?
ooh, tbh I don't think you'd want them if you saw them! Too small they maybe, but it hasn't stopped me from wearing them to death underneath things - or my cats from clawing them to bits either...
To be fair they aren't ridiculously small off the bike, but for a 'cycling' cut they come up pretty short when stretched out I think...

I have a S Milwaukeee. It's great, but it's the biggest jacket I own by a mile. I have several Small and Mediums from other brands that could all be worn underneath it quite easily.
Strangely enough, I aslo have a few Swrve Hiding Hoodies in S and they are all too small!
It's all quality stuff though, and I'll be buying more...
Has anyone bought this hoodie? If you have, do you think it's cut generously or more on the trim side? I've been thinking of getting one but I need to know whether I should get the S or XS based on whether I can put stuff under it or not. It's a men's jacket and can't decide whether S will be too big.

Hi Fox,
The 7.5mm was just my rudimentary guess from using a tape measure. Looking at that link again mine is identical to that (I remember the XR1 on the box now - but doubted it yesterday due to seeing them selling it for the higher price elsewhere on the same site).
Dunno about going round two rings but it fits my (quite substantial) White Industries ring with ease...
They have just emailed me back to say this is the one I have ordered for £19.99 - weird it is elsewhere on the site for that price!
http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/547798/Security/Alarmed-Locks/Xena/XR1-Disc-Lock-Alarm110Db and a 7mm gap height - so do we think this will work? I'm guessing yes if the other one is 7.5mm and will fit two chainrings (I only need it to fit one).
-
You could get anything up to 7.5mm in the slot.
Dunno if Clefty's arms differently or not but this one seems to rely on some metal breaking the plane of the sensor between the slot to set it. So I'm not sure how the ideas of using it on spokes or saddle rails would work, as I expect it would just hang there without the plane being broken, unless it were balanced carefully. It's ideal for my chainring though...
I would test it out more - but it wakes up the neighbours and scares the cats to death!
-
just checked it, and it is 110db after all.
Unfortunately I chucked out the box and I can't recall exactly which model it was - but I remember googling it at the time and finding out that it generally retailed for more that the xzz6 and that it was about 100g heavier.
It's currently hanging off my back door handle as an el cheapo burglar alarm...

Someone I know has been using one of these for months to hold in a completely shattered screen. Apparently it functions totally normally despite looking pretty fucked up...

Paypal'd the five spot back to you wibble :)
I expect you're right about the young Riise but it should be interesting to see what Hodgson has in mind for him...
not bad, very balanced team you've got there.. If that's Riise from Fulham though (younger brother of Jon Arne) I don't think he'll get many games ahead of Davies, Dempsey or Gera

Fair play to Cuddles. Way to channel that inner rage!
Not too sure he really was "breathing through every orifice" though?
