How much of the 200k is 300 quid jackets nobody wants to pay for and unsellable Hoy stuff though?

Still not 100% sure whether this is a C35 but getting this cleaned up and on the road is the job of this winter for me. The stem is a slightly knackered 3T one but it came with a fully functional spare. Main job is to get the frame resprayed and some new decals for it, then some general work on the drivetrain as well as some TLC for the saddle but other than that it seems reasonable.

Jesus a 203mm disc in town, you'll be over the bars, I'd stick to 160mm. I don't know why you'd bother with such a nasty brakeset though when you can get cheap hydros that work so much better for not much more money

Bought it a bit over a year ago for commuting but don't use it as much as I expected as I tend to leave stuff at work and ride without a bag if I can. As such it's had minimal use and is almost as new. Looking for 120 quid posted.

methebmxer - I'd suggest posting it on somewhere like Singletrackworld as they've had a good amount of success at spotting nicked mountainbikes (as long as they're custom or rare).

Any idea what brake callipers would fit a raleigh winner (original wheels and fork)? The current ones don't stop me too well so was considering a hopefully cheap upgrade.

I'm in need of a cheap, square taper crank set for my old raleigh SS pub hack/commuter as I've ruined my crank arms (unless someone has a crank arm for a Raleigh winner they're willing to part with).

I've now basically done with a rebuild of my old road bike (Raleigh, bought by my parents for me in the mid-80s) and when I took the pedals off to shove my new pedals onto, the drive side seems to have been a little too attached to the pedals and I've stripped the thread.

So, I'm in need of a cheap crankset (sticking with the BB as I've no urge to ruin the frame with my ham-fisted removal techniques) for a square taper BB. What've people got and I'm looking to spend under £40 as I can see on-one cranksets going for not much more than that. Did I mention they need to be cheap?

Seems mostly fine apart from some slip at the back when I'm putting some pressure down. Chain is slightly too slack so I'll shorten that tomorrow. Really not enjoying the old drop bars though :)

But will my exisitng big ring be okay?

Well I got the freewheel sorted and a bmx one on. Problem now is the gap between teeth on my big ring and the freewheel don't seem compatible. It looks like the freewheel expects a chunkier chain (which isn't unexpected) but I have a feeling if I find the right chain for that, the big ring won't fit. I tried the original chain and two spares (9-speed Shimano, 9-speed SRAM) that I had but no go.

Do I need to go for a chunkier big-ring with larger spacing? The chain is the only part stopping me now as the rest is ridable even if it's not optimal.

Slight rise I think but flat is going to be fine anyway, the stem is tall enough. The stem is silver and I'll be getting a silver bmx seatpost so something in silver would work nicely.

Oh and if anyone can recommend a cheap set of flat bars (not too narrow, I'm used to MTB bars) I'd appreciate it :)

I've got my 20+ year old raleigh winner back from my parents garage wall and am giving it a bit of a cleanup and conversion to SS. First job is to get the mechs and cables off and SS the rear wheel. As this is my first conversion I'm a bit clueless.

Firstly on the last point, I need to get the freehwheel off but don't have the tools so I assume that's a trip down to the LBS. For getting the conversion done do I need to get the wheel re-dished or will it be fine (but not optimal) with spacers?

If you can get the listen again stuff on Radio 1, Mary Ann Hobbs had a mix from Vaccine earlier this week that was pretty good.

New wheel, bar tape and brake levers it is then. Pedals can wait but I'm not sure a set of mountain bike crank bros spds are exactly in keeping with the retro theme. So any places to pick up decent but cheap brake levers?

I've got an old road bike at my parents house that I last used 10 years ago which might do with a lot of TLC. I'm not going fixed to start with, need to get used to no gears first ;)

Great price. I got a couple at the howies sample sale that were still more expensive than these.
