Anyone else set a personal best on the commute home, after watching yesterday's stage ? Been a great TdF so far.
Had myself a bit of personal time trial to Bow after the prologue, then after stage 2 decided to hold back the other riders in the ASL box in protest to the dangerous road conditions on the course to Holborn, and yesterday gritted my teeth as I rode the 10m of Pave through Westminster.

i got a twitter list going if you want to follow tdf people
http://twitter.com/#/list/snoopert/tdf
you can follow the list instead of every individual person, then just unfollow the list when you like.
just sayin'
Is it possible to save the list on twitter? Can't work out if its possible.

Independent review http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/reviews/look-mum-no-hands-49-old-street-london-ec1-2008636.html
That independent article has a link to a great Tour de France video from the 70's. Although their link is not working, here the youtube link:

Did anyone else see the incredibly biased BBC news item on Boris's new traffic enforcement for cyclists and motorists?
!
1.There was no mention of motorists being targeted whatsoever, and the item focussed on cyclists running red lights as the main theme. With focus being on a CRACKDOWN on cyclists in the city.- What shocked me the most and hopefully is a mistake, was that the ending of the piece went something like:
"Cyclists will face hefty fines for running red lights, cycling on the pavement, and *not wearing a helme*t"
What!?
I seriously hope this is a fuck up and the law hasn't suddenly changed overnight. Anyone know anymore about this helmet reference? Is there a publication on the TFL website about this new traffic safety plan from Boris?
I want to make a complaint to the BBC if I find out its incorrect.

Massive Fail!
This woman failed to lock both the frame and wheels using her D-lock. I was amazed that somehow she had even missed the aerospoke! The spok was just secured with allen bolt skewer, so it would take no time to undo and put back together to cycle away on.
I waited for a bit to see if she would come back to advise her on locking, but she didn't return for a while I'm guessing.
Also very slack chain.
Edit: This was just outside On Your Bike! at London Bridge, and parked in front of a sign advertising secure bike parking.

Surely if you're talking about chroming stems and handlebars, you should be going for the polishing route. Find somewhere that does high quality buffing and polishing until the stem is shiny and new, or do it yourself.
I remember seeing a thread on here on how to polish bike parts, but you have to search for it as I can't be bothered. -
About an hour ago: Three wheels, a saddle and seatpost. Across the street from Cafe Oto on Ashwin Street.
- Front Wheel, 32 spoke, high flange formula hub, Miche primato 16t cog, dura-ace lockring, mavic ma3 rim with soma everlast tire, all silver
- Rear wheel, White industries, 32 spoke low flange hub laced to MA3 Rim with brand new (first ride!) schwalbe durano tire
- Rear wheel, 32 spoke, high flange IRO hub, dura-ace cog (unkown tooth count) unknown semi-aero rim with soma everlast tire, all silver
- Selle Italia blue leather saddle with the words MAPEI around the edge
Any leads would be of help...

I guess go and check round brick lane, as lots of parts end up there.
Both those bikes should be locked better though, a simple change of technique by putting the d lock through frame and wheel together, could have saved at least a wheel from each bike. Then add another cable or d lock for the front wheel. Old chain through saddles...etc.
