This has neither form nor function. It'd be more aero with drops than tribars that high up. Gearing looks a bit low too, unless the owner's quite slow.... which he might well be given the position.
The frame would make a very nice track bike, at the moment it's set up poorly for it's intended use. = anti porn, for me.

It's not the designer's fault the brief is probably:
**"Marketing says customers want it to look like the sponsored pro bikes. Leave no space unbranded because unbranded never made any money right? Oh and everything in slanty type... slanty is fast you know?"**If you shot the marketing man, and let the graphic designer work with the bike designer... the results would be better. But that's life.
But surely the middle aged weekend club riders who buy these bikes, do indeed want them to look like sponsored pro bikes.I passed someone yesterday on a discovery channel Trek.

I'm sure there will be the usual critics questioning "why not just use racks and panniers"...but i'm really happy with this setup. Couple of changes i want to make on the second version, but for now i'm well happy :)
Those bloody critics and their damned logic and reasoning. ;)Good luck with the ride scot.

Can you think of a better solution than mounting them on the fork legs?
An audax bike with panniers and normal bottle cages? :D :DYes...i used to run tri bars years ago...believe it or not i'm not new to cycling...i didn't just join the 'fixie' craze. :)
No, I mean have you tested this bike out over long distances? -
The forks have had proper bottle mounts brazed on, so they're no weaker than a downtube with bottle mounts.
I wasn't suggesting it would weaken the forks, but it's a lot of effort to go to, to fix a problem that doesn't exist. You've answered your own questions on tri bars...they're not just for going fast in races...why do you think practically every bike in the RAAM uses them?
Do many RAAM riders ride fixed? They offer a position to rest on out of the wind....and when set up higher as on my bike they're far less uncomfortable.
have you tested them over long distance yet then?
