Ok,
North Italia as a central spot in Europe provide best teams from everywhere, the top 32 was incredibly high level, and the third step of the podium was open for a lot of teams ( I would say 6 or 7). This is a really good point.Courts surfaces were dope but on one court not at all when it became rainy. Sizes were really good but wooden board as were way too light.
The grid fence after thy ban checks were ok, but they should have cover them for sure, this was killingly dangerous.Reffing was better than in a lot of tournaments. Call were missing but with the new ruleset that's normal. Some of them took they job fuckin seriously (Warin, Jason, dany, Ale, etc.).
The finals were doply reffed, canceling CMD goals for good reason at least 5 on 6... Ref was goon to ask his official GR any time he needed second opinion. Way to go.The polo I saw was also more interesting than the last season worlds. Less double goalies in a lot of games, less shitty interference strategies.
But as it seems that nobody film any game, we won't know it :)Spot was cool, Party too. Good mood all around.
(Edit: proud mode on : half of top 8 is Swiss teams, 100% of Swiss teams are in the top 8. To be faire, on team have lefty Phil (whoever) the other dodi (outlawz). Hope we are back on track after a shitty year)

Ok so,
After bending my last bank robber frame, the stainless one, by putting a beffy alumium fork and rushing head down straight into Cam bike's at the Euro Bench last year, im back with a new project. Still with Bank Robber (sammy moteur Fucker brand).
This time i go with a less sloppey geo, because the top tube was hurting my right knee too much when i was jumping.
This time he gonna make me a fork, so no more aluminium on steel. We decide also to drop stainless steel because of the price, we want to make a beefy prototype first.
I made it a little longer than last time too. And I'll go for weird angles, 71° instead of the usual 73-74°. I make it like that because right now im riding a EXS 52cm made for 700 wheells but with both 26 (same frame as the one i rode at wolrds, but i kicked out the back 700).
Even if the frame is not made for this set up, that's pretty confortable, with a 74 mm rake. My only issue is the bb height wich is 27.5. So i took almost the same specs but with higher BB.Any other examples of this kind of angles? whats the usual rake you guys use?
PS
I noticed at the end that this bike looks a lot like todd one for almost all specs but angles (he have 74°, i have 71°). He have something around 6.4 rake and i have 7.4. But he's bigger than me. Does it means that my project is too big for me? (im 1m72).Cheers.

During Wild-means game, the check at 9:35 from Nick should be a 30 sec for sur. He's just pissed by the small dolphin slap (really small) that josh did 10 sec before and he provides a really shitty move to say it... This is the kind of move who should be automatically 30 sec or even more.

Spent last few nights watching old games from 2010 - 2012. It's look like we (mostly) didn't improve at all. The passing game back in the days make the game watchable.
About the foul... Jono's did (yes that's not a bad one, but consequence are really important, as alexis is about to score in a almost open net). I will call penalty shot for that.
John you know what happen if you get 30 second before a rejoust because of the end the game?

The move that Paulo almost created alone, the one where he took your on mallet to trap it between your on body/bike and his mallet was something who make me feel that we should ban this kind of stuff... But after using it too and get use to, I think that this can still be legit, because you can avoid it.
And if you took ice hockey, as a sport where you can play oppenent stick, they deal with it. You know that there is a huge aera where you won't drive the ball safetly so you have to be quicker and better at ball handling to drive it into safer spot. For me hacking should only be legal when it's not to hard, and only from bottom to top.
Any angry back hack (like the one paulo make on hugo) should be a 30 sec penalty. Cause it's really more a sword vengeance move than anything.I would like to try a game or two where you can't play opponent sticks... but i feel that the attack will have to much power.
Edit:
Looking for hockey stick defensive move, just found this:

Last polo night we talked about 2009 with manu, and we were asking ourselves how many player were playing freewheel. In my mind Manu and Lucas were almost alone... Is that true?
It was also fun to remember that most of the people were saying they were better than anybody but no one said that it was also because they played freewheel with small ratio in a forest of fixed players. -

Super clean check, and Kremin looks like is waiting (not enough) for it. Both strugglin' for the ball, looks really not like a cheap (angry etc...) move, but a real "create space" strategy.
Only issue is that is not far enough or not close enough from boards.Anyway the thread on LOBP is a good one in my opinion, cause the rules right now are not clear enough in my opinon, and we miss a real clarification about what is legal or not. We still thinks we could play checks as in hockey even if we are not wearing 10% of the protection gear they have and riding unpredictable metal horses.
I love to play check, often hard, but some of them who are still legal look like chessmate move to me and shouldn't be admit. Also i find weird that we are playing a sport where you can play a whole tournament with almost zero checks and then fall in game where people are just throwing themselves into each others. This is part of my doubt about lettin' checks legals, they are often useless and coming from nowhere (as they do in hockey, wich is stupid, as you can still crash into a player who have drop the puck since 2 seconds).
I'm always back on forth on this question and can't stop changing my mind... -
Rule thread about it here:
https://leagueofbikepolo.com/forum/rules/2013/12/19/checking-a-photo
Near the last part of the thread.
The idea of "boarding" is more the distance between players and boards than the check hismelf who is put into discussion. If you're not too close and not too far from boards, a fall of the checked player can be dangerous because of the way his head and upper body gonna hit the boards. This is fr an hockey perspective, where you can check open ice or against board, but not around 1meter near the board.
Yep, him an Dodi don't play in Switzerland local clubs, that's why I said "to be fair". 2 of 4 Swiss teams drafted excellent players from Europe.
