I'm getting my mile and a half (2.4km) down to help my bro with training when I'm back in Cambridge, and I'm seeing improvement in as little as a week. The target is 10.5 minutes as a respectable time.
I'm doing it every other day and in between days are conditioning drills, dips, pressups and situps and here's how I'm going:
Saturday: 1.7km in 10 minutes
Monday: 1.9km in 9 minutes
Today: 2.1km in 9 minutesI'm so chuffed it's unreal, at that rate I still have 90 seconds to run 300 metres and I could crawl faster than that!
I am going to have to "ave a good" at this... What is your time for 5km/10km??
I went for my first "day-light" after work run last night and it felt excellent! I do love to run after work to forget the working day! -
.... I seems like only yesterday that great Spanish teams used to make our best look average ( Barca 4 - 0 Man U .... Romaio etc etc) and now the 3rd place english team make Real Madrid just look shite! ... It's amazing what billions of pounds worth of investment will do...
p.s Before all you man u fans say it... I know the rules where different back then.

I would keep training.... It will only take that one good session to get you in a better frame of mind and like lebowski says you will be able to bask in them memories after ..plus you never have to do it again!
I do totally understand where you are coming from... I really enjoy my running but if i force myself out when I am not 100% and have a bad one then it sets my back weeks and I get lazy.
Change of topic... Any runners from victoria park on this thread??

Theif News..... Had my bike locked up out side a bar close to Old street Roundabout. I was sitting out side the bar with a number of other people and this old chav looking bastard ( bout 5'10 gret chav tracksuit , standard white trainers , mid to late 30's, ugly , no side burns...) was checking my bike out , checked the lock then he got on the phone and he just waited next to my bike. He stood there for about 10 mins .. As soon as I went over he quickly left the area and got on his phone again.
If my friend and I had chosen to sit inside the bar (in the warm) by bike would be down brick lane right now & its just so fucking shit how these theifs just get away with it!
It would be so easy to do a "sting" and get this bastard.....

Always go smaller than you're told, unless you're going to climb in the Alps or the Pyrenees, then go 1cm larger. Seat posts and stems compensate smaller.
This makes sense as It was great going up hills.....
I am thinking I may go for a smaller frame.... In general what is a good rule on the correct frame size??
Also thanks for all your replys....even the horses one!
