The front is showing a bit more surface corrosion, I'm sure it will buff out with some polish or duraglit

Yes unholy mess of cables, zip ties, cheap dropper and that saddle BUT I think the fit is almost there and much prefer the feel of the Junkers

Another day another delivery of bars! 100mm rise Junkers will hopefully be 'the 1s'.

Needs a new/ longer front hose now though.

Checked the derailleur hanger using the soareback wheel method, bent it back straight worryingly easily. Going to replace the SX shifter and mech with GX mech and NX shifter.

Nice pair of Miche hubs in silver, 32h, qr, campagnolo freehub 9 speed.

Spin nicely, could do with a re-grease.

I'm probably going to be moving on some VO Klunkers as I don't think they are wide enough for me, if you're interested in trying those?
I've got Surly Sunrise on my Scrambler and will probably cut those down to 800 then 780

Crazy prices for Soma and Tumbleweed bars and I like the idea of a UK brand but the Soma do look best on paper

Subbed to this, sounds very similar to my Singular Swift build.

Bars as such an issue- Stooge Motos- VO Klunkers- still undecided but Soma Dream hi rise, Stooge Trackers, Tumbleweed Persuaders are all being considered as potentials.

These were a birthday present- marked as 34 but definitely not, more like 32in waist as I can do them up but too snug for comfort.

Tried on, walked around and disappointedly taken off. Now discontinued so can't send them back.

Yeah I missed my mk1 Monkey I bought thus as a replacement! Very different beast as it turns out but just as enjoyable

I have bought an absolute bargain full 1x12 SX groupset from FB but everyone seems to be down on the shifter and derailleur performance. Is there any point setting up the derailleur or shall I install look out for a GX replacement mech and shifter?

Do I need the sram b gap tool or is there a hack to go by eye? There are some 3d printed ones on ebay, any good or just go for the manufacturer one?

So many questions........

Do you still have the NX shifter and mech? Any chance of postage if you do?

Ive been through my ebay history (boy have I bought a lot of stuff!!) but cant find a link- tree support strap or something

I bought some from Ebay that were part of a tree fixing set, came with some nice green straps too- much cheaper than those branded for bikepacking

I'm in Tavistock and you can borrow a front Aksium front wheel if any use? QR hub and has a tyre on it too :)

A bit more fettling- Sram SX groupset fitted, except cranks as waiting for a BB. Absolute bargain and all working right off the bat!

Inline post, not sure about but will wait for the VO Klunker bars to arrive so I can get the fit comfortable.

Long term, this is a keeper such a lively comfortable ride, so the plan is to get this as I want it then off for a powder coat back to pigeon blue!

Going to book myself on the Dorset Dirt dash next year!
