Talking of low, thought you'd be keen to see my ride....
You bastard, one of my favourite cars of all time, done tastefully too! Although really not a fan of the wheels...but I'll let you off this time :)
There's one of those in a 70s greyish blue with white highlights (bumper, emblem etc) in perfect condish which belongs to some decorator bloke around the neighbourhood:

My old car, Clio 1.8 16v. Anyone else got one / had one?
Rents used to have a 1.4 Clie from 1990, got it when I was born. Had this faded sand yellow colour. Nothing special like yours but lasted a good 17 years before my uncle had a small crash and we decided it was time to replace it :)
Also, totally agree with yuo Oliver, that thing doesn't even have a proper chassy (I'm 80% sure, think it's one of those "self supporting shell type design" jobbies).
And I LOVE those chop-top bettles. Althoguh I reckon they should fill the original wheel wells to follow the shape of the rest of the car seeing as they're made redundant..

Whoever knew there were any Kiwi car enthusiasts eh? =P
Very Caparo, hopefully this one won't set anyone on fire though (except maybe with that paintjob).
Hmm not a fan. Other than the paintjob, things just don't seem to be in the right proportions. Reguardless of function, the front bumper is monstrous compared to that little spoiler. Car looks front heavy (visually obviously..not actuall heavier at the fron) althoguh I'm gonna give it the benefit of the doubt because the angle probably contributes a lot to that.

Random but my curiosity is killing me.
Just watched The Bank Job...pretty poor even by Jason's standards.
Was realyl curious about this gas they used in a torture scene. It seemed to almost deteriorate everything it was blown on, in the film one of the crims blows it against wood panneling and it sort of just disintegrates. Then he takes it to one of the captive's legs but we don't see what happens there. Thing is the gas isn't lit or anything. Anyone know what it could be? -
What he said, Ed. Of course there's 'nothing wrong' with the stock lens. But who is this 'average individual' you're on about? I think I'm probably one of them: photography is a hobby, albeit one I would like, with practice and experience, to take further. Within a few months of owning my D40 I decided I wanted more reach than the 55 mm (or, anticipating your comments, whatever that equates to in 35 mm/ full frame terms) the kit lens would allow so I got a longer, faster lens. Now I am about to replace the kit lens range with another fast lens as f/3.5 simply isn't fast enough for many applications. This is all on a low-end body which this 'average individual' got not knowing whether or not photography would become a serious interest.
"Better" is a very subjective term, but I can tell you that I get better bokeh, contrast and colour reproduction with my more expensive lenses than I do with the kit.
I was litterally gonna right something just like that. I'm also a big fan of Bokeh and a shallow depth of field so as soon as CrazyJames offered me his 50mm f1.4 for £100 I snatched it up reaaaaal quick! Ever since I've never bothered with my zoom lens. Now that I have a 85mm f1.8 I'm deffinitely not touching my kit lens.
Also good choice on the olympus. I LOVE that pancake lens, it's just so awesome haha.

I think what he means is that if you want what I was looking for it would be cheaper to buy say an OM10 with the stock 50mm f1.8 (which I have, along with 2 other lenses - dad's kit) than to buy a lens for my DSLR.
Which makes sense but..not if one wants to use digital. Although for example I originally bought the lomo fisheye as that would be cheaper than getting a fisheye lens..although that turned out to be stupid and I sold it on soon after for the same price O_o. -
