I have one and I love it and swear up and down by it. Saved my computer when I had a really nasty fall too. Now I do like the way the chrome bag fits, but I don't like (and this is a horrible reason not to buy something) being associated with all the other assholes that have one because "it's the cool thing." I don't know if they are as rampant in england as they are here but it's like the bloody plague.

I think this is wonderful news.
I have done critical mass here. It never really took off the way I would like it to but it is picking up. I think critical mass is a wonderful idea. I have minimal riding experience in england but I know that here there are people hit, abused, ignored and just generally disrespected all the time here, critical mass forces people to realise there are cyclists around. In California it has got so big in some places it is escorted by police, which seems like a contradiction until you think about the fact that it means a whole team has had to be put together, and change the way they do things in order to accommodate cyclists.
Police try to mess around with cyclists all the time, I think it is great news that it has been cleared up.

@snails - do you go to that awesome bike shop on the south side of Scottsdale? Can't remember the name but it's a little out of town and has a whole separate building devoted to sweet cruisers from Felt, Electra, etc - I could have bought the entire stock, if I could have fitted it in my hold baggage!
bicycle haus?
They are more of the hipster house. but they do carry some cool stuff. in Tempe where I live there is "dominics" they are fantastic. Really nice guys, always willing to help out and they carry a lot of everything I ever need.
so weird there are people that have been to az on here ha. I don't know why anyone would come here!

I liked Arizona... We went to the Barrett (sp?) Jackson auction there. But yeah, it was stinkin hot!
tis alright to visit. shite to live in. Nothing about it changes, but nothing is that cool here in the first place ha. I don't mind going up north, there are trees and seasons, you know, normal things hah

Sorry to say it, but im a bit flushed in 28 degrees... cant say I'm missing the London cold. Time for Corona on the porch.
To be honest, I fucking hate Arizona weather. Sweating till you vomit on a regular basis gets old really really fast. I'll take rain and clouds any day. I will take English winter in a tee over this place ha

clearly, all men desire is to have this as their best friend.

hello hello.
I am Jess.
I live in America right now, but I am from England and I am moving back in a month. I am from the southwest but I will probably be moving to the london area a few months after my big move.I have no photo of my newest bike yet as she is not yet finished, tis however an IRO Mark V, velocity, Sugino messenger cranks, the other necessities will be bought this friday and I am well excited. =)
previous to this was a 1978 Peugot conversion. Her name was pertunia and we learnt a lot together. she was destroyed in an accident. Wear a helmet when you ride kids. Trust me.
I was a lion for halloween =)
I agree here also. Steel, especially if it is your first built bike. You can always upgrade once you have more of an idea of what you like and don't like.
Sugino has a messenger crank set that I actually just got for my new bike. They even have colours, I am not going to lie, mine is pink =)
You also mentioned velocitys. Go on ebay. They have hundreds of wheel sets super cheap but made with decent parts. It is definitely worth your time to look. I saved over $175 on my wheel set this way.
