I've been thinking about getting a sub as my Harbeth's lack a bit of lower range. Before I join Alice down the rabbit hole, any tips for selecting a sub?
Are two better than one? Do I also need DSP and a calibrated microphone?
I've heard good things about REL, and they recommend the 7tx - which doesn't suggest it needs a DSP for successful set-up

I use the puck screen. Shots appear more consistent, but I got one of those needle distributors at the same time so hard to isolate whether it's made a difference.
Machine/grouphead seal need cleaning less, which is a more definite positive (though you do need to get used to catching the screen when knocking the puck out).

I've looked at thus sort of thing before for a similar purpose, but didn't get in the end as wasn't sure of battery life (excuse the Bezos link): https://amzn.eu/d/g1fUILu

Ha, I wouldn't trust myself... I was looking to use the adjustable V-brakes (like the ones Paul do) to accommodate the 650b.
It's an early 90s MTB frame which I'm (over sentimentally) updating/resurrecting. I can't find many MTB specific 130mm rim brake hubs, but there's a few options for road.
Am I asking for catastrophe if I use road hubs (I'll not be doing anything more than a bit of gravel on it)?
Or should I just get some disc hubs laced to rim-brake rims?

Great, thanks @gbj_tester. @snottyotter good shout re: 650b, looking to update a 26" frame

Can anyone recommend a good window supplier/glazier in East London/Leyton? Looking to extend the kitchen and trying to work out some options, ideally energy efficient with minimal internal frames.
@jono84 had a kitchen spray tap at my last place, would definitely get again but hard to quantify quite why - felt like it was dead handy at the time, but can't think of of anything now you couldn't really do with a normal tap!

After all the cold brew chat here, I dug out my Hario jug (Mizudashi 600ml) and realised I've somehow managed to lose the filter bottom. It seems like a waste to just order a new one, does anyone know where I might be able to get it as a spare part? It's the cap bit that pushes on to the bottom of the inner filter.

Camping quilts might be the best of both worlds: https://outdoorsmagic.com/article/best-lightweight-backpacking-quilts-top-6/

Got them from here, which has a few close-ups: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/911997959/record-display-shelf-wall-mounted-vinyl
The finish is a bit "3D printed" but you wouldn't notice unless you're pretty close up

Sounds like you're sorted now, but the wonderfully named Pentonville Foam and Rubber Products could help: http://www.pentonvillerubber.co.uk/

I've done this a couple of times, though not with one as tall as 2m! I've usually lightly wrapped the cactus body in bubble wrap, then supported with bamboo canes around it, taped to the pot and tied around at the top, then wrapped the whole thing in cardboard.
Keeping them upright has always been the main issue though, given the root ball's so small!
Finished my first Tamiya build after this thread brought back 80s memories. Went for a Lunchbox mainly because an older lad at school had one which looked great fun (and at the time there was no chance we could have afforded one).
Really enjoyed the process, and properly went down a rabbit hole in terms of mods: upgraded motor, 3D printed chassis and anti-slap braces, alu body mounts (oh and oil shocks arriving tomorrow).
Body isn't perfect, especially compared to some of the efforts shared here - but happy enough. Needed a lie down after the last coat of gold, three windows open clearly isn't enough ventilation!
Will probably give to the nephew eventually, but think I've got the bug. Might get something a bit more modern next.
