Great work as always @Velocio. Forum donation incoming.
(Also, randomly came across these "beauts" while trying to find out if the site was down for everyone or just me: https://www.redbubble.com/i/t-shirt/LFGSS-No-Breaks-Love-Bikes-Singlespeed-Fixed-Gear-by-K0tK0tu/116220091.NL9AC)

It's possibly a bit late in the year to get anything like a meadow from seeds. You could try getting some wildflower plugs from someone like Landlife Wildflowers - not cheap at about a £1 a plug. Alternatively, you could get some wildflower turf (but again don't know if it's the right time of year).
Planting some yellow rattle would weaken the grass so you get more luck next year...

Love the idea of that! I ended up leaving the car at a mates a town away for the rest of the week, and have got a steering wheel lock, Faraday pouches and a camera looking out from the window.
All feels a bit much, but Skoda claimed they can't recode the key as it's hardcoded to the immobiliser, so it'll put my mind to rest a bit.

Thanks - I thought about it too late to get a steering wheel lock for tonight, but have let a couple of tyres down and will leave the window open tonight.
I'll take it to get the key recoded tomorrow and will start using Faraday bags.
I'm sure I'm overthinking it: it's more likely something to do with the neighbours (who had the police visit at 4am a few weeks ago). Why would you leave the tape on the camera if your wanted to come back and steal the car, surely you'd remove it so it didn't flag anything suspicious?
Anyway looking forward to a light night's sleep, jumping to the window every time a fox rattles the milk bottles/bins...

Off topicish, but woke up this morning and both mine and the neighbour's ring doorbells had duct tape put over them at 2.30 in the morning.
Amongst other things, I'm worried they were covering the camera so they could spend time relating/cloning the key signal (key was in the hallway). Car was still there though and seemingly untouched.
I've ordered a couple of Faraday bags, but not sure what's best to do if they did clone it but didn't drive off (though not sure why they'd do that).
Any suggestions what to do in the meantime? I can't see a way of setting it to key only opening (it's a '21 plate Octavia VRS)

I need a new front door. I shopped around a bit and found a well known company to make it and paid a 50% deposit (but no paperwork signed and not clear if refundable or not). I've since found another company, well reviewed by friends, that will do it for significantly cheaper.
Question: am I a douche to ask for a refund on the deposit and what, if any, are my rights?
Edit: there's been no work done to date as I need to book in accurate measurements and finalise quote.

I'm sure it'll be bottom of the list for bits to nick, and I guess if I at least secure the fixings to the frame there's no point stealing a partial rack. (Though I'm not sure there's always much logic applied by the people stealing components other than it being removable by allen key and easy to carry...)

Cheers - just had a look, some decent tips.
