I've two cassettes that, purely for nostalgia, I'd like to play through my stereo. I appreciate there's no sensible value-for-money approach for this - but:
- Do I just get a vintage separate tape deck? (If so, any recommendations?)
- Is there a modern, reasonable priced alternative?
- Would a Walkman and 3.5mm to phono make sense?
- Should I just forget the 80s and move on with my life?
Budget no more than £50 (closer to £25 ideally).

@ltc I can second Kleen Kanteen - fits in a bottle cage as well. Only keeps stuff hot when you're out on the cold for 3/4h though (not the 20+h they have on the site)

I've the excitement of a similar number of meetings and I definitely wouldn't recommend wireless (well bluetooth) for video calls/meets. The app prioritisation (on Windows at least) means that app notifications often disconnect me from the call to play the notification sound. It's particularly annoying when on calls with large audiences and people joining/leaving regularly.
You can change the settings on email, slack etc. and can prioritise video conferencing in audio settings, but it's a bit like playing whack-a-mole across multiple video platforms.

I've had a classic for a few years and love it for the price. Some recommendations:
Now:
- Scales: cheap drug dealer scales will do (forum recommendation!)
- Properly fitting tamper (58.4mm)
Future stuff if you want to get more involved (though you can get decent coffee with just the above):
- Precision shower screen (I've got one from IMS)
- Brass shower-plate holder
- VST basket (done!)
- Naked portafilter
- Distribution tool
- OPV modification
- Pressure gauge
- Auber PID (get pre-infuse then too)
EDIT: a half-decent burr grinder should probably to top of the "future" list

Looking at the Christmas tree, it feels like a waste to bin it - in terms of tools, where's a good place to start if I wanted to attempt a spoon or two?
Would I be better off getting separate woodcarving knife and hook (like the Moras mentioned in this thread)? Or would I be able to get by with something like the Old Timer combination knife?
I guess I'm looking to minimise cost while I work out if it's something I can get on with, while also minimising the risk of slicing a finger/thumb/hand/arm off.

Thanks for the help -TM Lewins has shut (permanently) in Westfield Stratford, but I managed to get a pair of pretty closely-matching trousers in Charles Tyrwhitt's. Panic (and disapproval from the grave) averted.
Now, to work out what to do with the wardrobe to deal with the moths. Looking online it's worth bunging everything in the freezer for a few days, then investing in some cedar wood balls?

Minor crisis: took my suit out to press before a funeral tomorrow afternoon and bastard moths have been at the trousers in pretty visible areas (they seem to have taken a liking to my crotch).
Not a person of many suits (or trousers that aren't jeans), I'm going to have to do a panicked run to Westfield Stratford to pick up a replacement.
Off-the-peg the options look like Moss Bros, John Lewis, Ted Baker and H&M (assume all Charles Tyrwhitt will need adjusting).
I've got about an hour from when they open at 10, to having to leave to drive to the funeral, does anyone have any recommendations as where to start for something a) that doesn't look like a bin bag and b) isn't too spenny? I'm a pretty standardly built 180cm.

In that vein, I'm really not sure what I think about the Dyson Task Lamp - though surprisingly, a bit cheaper than the Winkel

Like this (excuse the Dan Walker tweet, but the catch is just about worth it)?

Bit of an ask, but I remember a few years ago someone posting an armchair here that they'd recently bought: large, metal framed, sling base and back with large cushions (a bit like an oversized Wassily Chair with cushions), blue (?). Might have been from a Swedish or German manufacturer?
Does anyone remember this? Am I imagining it? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Speaking of possible root formation, there's weird goings on with my cactus.
I had to undertake surgery a few months ago after loving it too much (over-watering) and since some new growth sprouted from where I make the cut. I've just noticed these nodules appearing both at the bottom of the new growth, as well as through the middle of the main plant.
Current hypothesis is that they're roots from the new growth that's run through the older plant. Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Absolute bargain. I'll add to the "maybe" pile.
(Absolutely love the peak 80s styling)
