I'm loving the not giving a fuck attitude! The naff was from the gf who suggested it might look a bit student-y. If it was up to me the place would probably already look a bit too much like a record store (really like the peg-board system they've got at Dreamhouse in Leyton).
Wish I had a dedicated listening room, but at the moment they're in the living room so things need to be negotiated...
Might get something up with command strips and see what the response is like

We've just had a family of foxes take an interest in the garden, a couple of them look to have pretty bad mange. Does anyone have any experience of trying to treat with Ivermectin?
http://www.foxwoodwildliferescue.org/2017/01/05/treating-sarcoptic-mange-in-red-foxes/
I don't know whether helpful or totally inappropriate? Should I just call the RSPCA or local wildlife charity?

After a minor disaster* moving a sofabed I ended up with a couple of gouges in a new floor. I've repaired with Osmo hardwax sticks and it looks pretty good, although I've still got a bit of a gloss sheen that stands out in the light against the matte lacquer on the wood.
What's the best way to sort? I've seen Konig do a matte touch-up pen, or should I just use a lacquer spray (or will it just dull down as I walk over it?)
*was helping get the sofa out for someone collecting it on freecycle - totally forgot the bed would fall out when tilting. Cue some high intensity awkwardness for all involved, while I attempted, and failed, to hide my clear annoyance (at myself, I've moved the sofa three times and knew it could fall out)

Had a couple of bikes serviced at a local shop recently - road and cross. Full service (degrease etc) plus new chain/cassette/chain-ring on the cross.
Front tyre punctured on the roadbike on the way back from the shop. Checked when I got home and the rim-tape had failed over a few spoke fittings. Ended up changing the rim-tape myself.
Took the cross out for the first ride since the service on Saturday, after about 80k the new chain snapped and took out the mech-hangar.
I've assumed the rim-tape isn't something you'd typically check on a service and the snapped chain is just unlucky, so I should just put it down to experience. It's just nagging at me a bit - would anyone think it's reasonable to bring up with the shop, or do I just need to suck it up and get over it?

He didn't in the end because his GF and project manager kicked up such a fuss. They also made him get a double / couples sink.
I hope he's using the second sink appropriately! Water does seem like a better option (not least of all for the trees), though I'm pretty sure my showerhead wont reach. Time for a Japanese toilet upgrade...

I'm a sitter. I've honestly never considered anyone stands! What do you people mean by standing? Squatting over the bowl, or fully upright? Surely it forces the cheeks together making wiping harder?
Also, "back" rather than "front" while sat. You don't want to be wiping towards your junk.
Though I've always thought of wiping with toilet roll as a bit strange anyway. What other part of your body do you clean by rubbing with tissue?

I'm the same. Have been dosing for a week or so but still feeling it. Whole body feels inflamed and on edge. I'm lucky it's just plane and birch pollen that really gets me, so I'm usually done by the end of March. Though fucking climate change is screwing with the pollen seasons, so they're getting longer every year apparently.

Christ. A battered used one is north of £300! I might have to resign myself to the fact that my Samson Sounds USA (a lovely tobacco company funded compilation cassette given out at a primary school event) and 2010's math rock single are probably only going to be heard with some hiss and crackle.
I'm at the point of picking the best looking (& working) "vintage" cassette deck I can find for £50 and less. Maximum dials and lights please.

I was going to say there's a killing to be made fleecing gullible audiophiles, but there's not a single review against any of the items - so maybe the pool of eejits is pretty shallow. That said, they don't expire and can't cost much to make...
