does anyone know anything about these guys based in Taiwan?http://www.evo.com.tw/manufacturer/23070/23070.html
anyone ordered anything from them?? -
i now know what brand the forks are.
I thought that the frame builder would want to keep this info to himself to protect a sale. just goes to show that presumption is the mother of all fuck-ups as he has just given me a link to the website where he gets them.
a taiwan based company: http://www.evo.com.tw/detail/99794/99794.htmlin the mean time i have also found these guys based in the UK who sell a columbus trekking fork, seems like a great option to me! http://www.ceeway.com/carbon%20forks.htm

yeah, i think ill ask him straight up...make it sound like i want to do some research on them, durability etc.... but he wants $285 (CAD) for a pair. which i think is a little steep! but i can't seem to find any other forks like these on the net.
the guy, who is the frame builder shown above is clearly a great frame builder, and one of only a few out here from what i can tell, so i don't want to nark him off by trying to undercut him when he could be the very guy i turn to for a new touring frame in the future... -

Hi, can anyone identify these forks. They are carbon, painted. they have lowrider bosses, canti mounts, and mudguard eyelets.
I can buy them from a guy near here, but they are expensive, and he hasn't told me the brand - don't think he wants to, and i don't want to push it! (he doesn't make them i don't think).
any ideas?

I've got 35mm on mine at the min and planning to fit chromoplastics too...i can't see why not, there is good clearance still, i think i just need to lengthen my chain by a link to give me more clearance against the seat tube.
Ill let you know how it goes if i get round to it soon, if you try, post up on here how it goes. -

Raleigh 20 for sale.
Its in ok condition, i.e. you can ride it and it works fine. but it certainly isn't a show bike, marks scratches etc on the paint. The three speed stermy archer hub works, it has new tyres.
The seat needs to be replaced, or someone with a magic touch do something with the bolt that holds it in place because it slips back which is a little annoying!
Thats its front mud guard that needs fitting, i never did.
£40 - a lovely project for someone?
i still have these bars + stem.
£10
3 speed stermy archer shifter. like this:

just thought i would add my 2p.
i have been a customer of ribble for the last few years with no issues at all, infact i would have suggested anyone order from them. until this last week!
i placed an order that was dispatched on the 6th of july and according to their times due delivery in 1-3 days. the order never showed up, fair enough, not their fault. checked with post office, dead end.
called ribble on friday who suggest that i should order again and i can pick up on saturday (i happened to be going to blackburn), then they will refund my original order. no probs.
online about to re order, notice i cant get the same discount code as before, so i call up, guy on the phone says to me "dont worry about it, just come here and we can give you a replacement". perfect.
off i go to ribble to find out that this is not possible, and they cant take a new order in their "shop" as they dont take money there(?!). i'm a little pissed off as to all intent i had driven 40mins based on something said to me by them for nothing.
they were very rude, culminating in them accusing me of making up that i had spoken to someone on the phone on friday, and then telling me a lie claiming that only two people were there on friday and neither of them spoke to me.
i tried to suggest that in this instance an apology for making me drive up there was the best possible course of action, their response: laughing. leading me me leaving the shop.
i will be getting a refund from them, and i will never shop there again, or suggest that anyone else does.
i thank you. rant over.
