simplest method in mental arithmetic is to divide chainwheel teeth by rear cog teeth then times wheelsize
ie: 48t chainwheel divided by 17t sprocket times 27" wheel = 76 inches -

when speaking to them always ask for Barry (the son and framebuilder) he's very approachable as Ernie (The Guv'nor) can be a bit cantankerous but then he is over 80....modern but traditional hearth brazed steel frames are extremely rare these days, I think they get their top end frames done at Colortech - Erith and the less costly lilac at Mario Vaz's

I remember the nylon headsets, they were used to save weight mainly in time trial bikes in the late 60's early 70's although lighter than steel they were crap to overhaul, the nylon thread used to chew up when unscrewing (bit like the plastic cups on the FAG b/brackets in the 90's) forgot the makers name but were only popular for a small time
