Noooooooo!
- 1 looks too good. Can you not colour match it?
I could just do the frame in the fluro green with all black and white components, but I can't be bothered with the fade. It's just a bike I use for riding around town and getting into lecturesetc. doesn't need to be anything special, aesthetically.

Here's an update froma couple of pages back.
Rear wheel all built up (spokes arent tensioned in this photo):
Rear hub (front Hope XC) with the custom made 120mm axle and 20mm spacer. ISO cog also fitted. (Sorry for the poor photo):
Here's what the bike's looking like at the moment (Note the bent forks!):
Frame is going to have all the braze-ons and mech hanger removed, then be powder coated white, along with a new set of forks. The stem is a black ITM jobby, and I have a set of white riser bars for it. I'll be running some 25c continental Grand Prix tyres in black. Should hopefully look pretty nice when it's all done, and it's definitely one of a kind!

The forks on my current bike are bent and need replacing urgently.
I need a set of 1" threaded forks (drilled or undrilled, doesn't matter too much) with 200mm(ish, get away with 197mm) of steerer tube, in any colour, but sound condition ASAP and as cheap as possible please (this is just a bike for getting around uni really). So, offers please!
Thanks,

Here's what I'm doing at te moment. Something a little different to the norm...
I'm running a front Hope XC hub on the rear of my fixed wheel bike with an ISO cog from 'London Fixie Bike' bolted to the disc mounts. My friend made me a special axle and spacer, so the hub runs in a 120mm spaced frame with perfect chain alignment and uses track nuts instead of a QR skewer. I'm also running a set of wethepeople royal BMX cranks upfront with a 43 tooth Profile imperial sprocket, which seems to work well.
Also a slightly different wheelbuild...It's a 3leading, 3 trailing snowflake with a single twist for each pair of spokes. Never seen it done before, just thought I'd give it ago. Seems pretty reasonable so far!
Here are a few pictures:
Sorry, the wheel's clearly only half built in this photo...I know it's not the average setup for a fixed wheel bike, but I can't see any disadvantages over the conventinal, screw-on cogs, but there are many, obvious advantages!

I want to strip and spray some old chrome forks, as they're looking a bit tatty. However, it isn't worth spending the time or money getting them chemically stripped or sand blasted.
Is a wire brush head in an angle grinder a really bad idea? if it gets the chrome off, the bare metal could easily be polished smooth enough to prime and spray?
Thanks in advance

I ride a trials bike too, and I have my rear tyre at around 14psi and front around 18psi. They're really, really grippy! but it's a completely different ball game with road tyres. You want the tyre to be hard enough not to squirm, but not so hard you lose the amount of rubber in contact with the road (alreay ben said, I think).

On my way home from college last year I wiped out at aroun 25mph (being cautious) on a downhill, off camber bend with spilt diesel. I remained clipped in and slid about 20 yards down the wrong side of the road (amazingly through a break in the oncoming traffic) on my hip and forearm before bouncing up a kurb and getting it in the squidgy bit between my ribs and hip. Shredded my jeans and hoody, major gravel rash, nicely scratched handlebars, shoes and pedal and a bruised kidney. Wasn't fun.

Wouldn't let me edit the title in my other topic and I cant find what I'm after in any of the other topics, so I've had to make another new topic. Sorry.
Basically, I'm after a 22.2mm black quill stem (the type for 1" threaded forks), with a reasonably short reach (the shorter the better) and preferably a little bit of drop (definitely not a stem with any significant rise). It must be 25.4mm clamp, and the cheaper the better!
I suppose I can always crack the plastikote out if it's not black ;) Just offer me whatever you have.
Thanks very much,
Sam
