@ citygent (don't know how to quote)
That is terrible, I hope you have fully recovered! Peds are a nightmare, I try to be careful especially in heavy traffic but when the unavoidable happens you are invariably going to make a mess of yourself/bike/them.
Another thing to watch out for is bus drivers letting people out of buses well before the stop. I had a rather large man literally jump into me on shaftesbury avenue one day. It did make for a pretty entertaining crash. It wasn't really his fault but the bus driver's, so I gave him a piece of my mind!

Speaking of the green cross code, I hit a pedestrian on Friday afternoon. He stepped out in front of a car leaving me with no time to attempt to stop. As a result I went flying over the handlebars and hit the deck, I'm not injured and neither is he, but the collision buckled my front wheel (has been fixed) and bent the fork slightly.
The guy was pretty sound and has offered to pay for the damage to the wheel but I'm not going to pursue the damage to the fork as I intend to replace my frame and fork as soon as I can get some cash together.
This is an all too common occurrence, for the most part cars etc are predicable in their movements on the road, but pedestrians are a nightmare. I have been forced into far too many compromising situations as a result of pedestrians stepping out in front of me. -

I bought a Ivory Mix VAGX messenger bag after christmas. Thus far I have had no problems with it. It is super comfortable even with a lot of weight packed into it and they look the business for the price. It isn't massive but it for my own needs it's perfect. I usually carry two lever arch folders, bottle of water, lock and a few books and there is still plenty of room. Highly recommend checking them out.

Understandably foolish when your approaching a large junction/on oxford street/behind an articulated truck. But on a normal high street, it doesn't seem like lunacy at all, I havent had any crashes before and cycle the same route every day. Its not hard to tell when someone is going to take a left, but when they literelly cut you off, of course its going to end in a mess.

Got hit this morning on the kings road by a chelsea tractor, suprise suprise. I was on the inside and the silly bitch took a left without indicating and nailed me in the process, over the handlebars I went and landed square on my hip (quite sore but nothing serious). Obviously infuriated, I clambered to my feet and proceeded to eat the head off her for not realising how dangerous her terrible driving is to cyclists/pedestrians alike. She said it was my fault, for cycling on the inside? am I mad in thinking that we are not supposed to cycle alongside the footpath? Futhermore, its the kings road, narrow and lots of traffic, thus cycling in the middle of the road is about as clever as commuting on a unicycle
Anyway, didn't get here reg but shouted enough profanities at her to never do it again, silly silly woman.

too right, had some wankstain in a taxi cut me off on a bend beside buckinham palace, I was just beside his passenger window, he pulled in front of me leaving me with a metre at most to stop as he took the bend. Managed to slam the front brake and luckily avoid getting minced. Caught up with him and said 'are you trying to fucking kill me' and he responds 'yeah, that was the plan' and drives off. TNUC

Some fucker in London Fields on Saturday decided to take my bike for a 'spin' without my consent. I suspect he is a forumenger judging by his general get up. You sir are a cunt.
