Hi everyone,
A load more bars plus a few stems.
I can take pics of anything somebody is interested in but my descriptions I think are pretty accurate. Please bear in mind almost all stems will have insertion marks... The description of bars refers to the the appearance of the clamp area and Exc = virtually no marks and VG = a few minor marks, not at all disfiguring G = a number of marks nothing too dreadful
I personally think you can interchange between Cinelli and 3TT bars and stems fine but the official recommendation is that 26.4mm stems should be used with 26.4mm bars and 26.0mm stems should be used with 26.0mm bars.
Shipping on bars will be £3.50, on stems £3 - shipping on more than one item will be combined to reduce the cost. ALL ITEMS ARE IN BRISTOL; viewing/collection welcome. Payment can be via bank transfer (preferred), cheque or the dreaded Paypal which costs me 3%...

Hi everyone,
I have a load of bars, stems and brake levers to sell - you can guess what I was doing yesterday! I generally think its best to separate bars and stems so that you don’t end up with a stem the wrong length or with wrong type of levers...

JOE WAUGH REYNOLDS 653 ROAD FRAME 62cm Possible fixie use SOLD
Seat Tube (ctt): 62cm
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Tubing: Reynolds 653
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 56mm
Seatpost size 27.2mm
Joe Waugh was one of the names used at M Steels for the frames built by Dave Yates. This frame is beautifully finished in a silver with a speckle - extremely unusual. Dave Yates built frames are just superb - this one does not dissappoint. It has horizontal dropouts making it possible for use as a singlespeed or with a fixed wheel. £95http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Joe-Waugh-dets.jpg

The bearings in the Superbe pedals are small metric sized cartridge bearings which I think will be easy to get from a bearings factor - fitting new bearings will need a little care and time but certainly is not impossible - and in any case I present there is no play in the bearings one just does not feel as smooth as the other...

VENOM TOURING FRAME 19.25in c1998 Columbus
Seat Tube (ctt): 19.25in
Top Tube (ctc): 20.25in
Rear dropout width: 135mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop of approx 53mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
This frame is in excellent condition. It is built from a mix of Columbus double butted tubing.
Venom were a small Midlands based British framebuilder who built excellent frames using Tig welding in the 1990s - they built the top of the range Orbit of Sheffield touring frames - this frame appears to be very similar to one of the designs built for Orbit. It is is very uncommon to find a touring frame as small as this frame still using 700C wheels. £75http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Venom-tourer.jpg
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Venom-tourer-dets.jpgEDDY MERCKX COLUMBUS MAX FRAME 58cm 1990/1 SOLD subject to payment
Seat Tube (ctc): 58cm
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Frame tubing: Columbus Max
Bottom Bracket Threads: Italian
This is not an AX Leader but its predecessor built with standard Columbus Max tubing (the AX Leader has a variation on the Max tubing without all the ovalisations) - the seat and down tubes are ovalised in an horizontal plane at the bottom bracket and the top and down tubes are ovalised vertically at the head tube. All tube sizes are quite oversize so it makes for a lovely stiff frame. This frame is in very good condition and the paint generally has an excellent appearance - with a closer inspection some touching up can be spotted. There are no dents or other damage - Max is very thin walled so Max frames are often dented. The frame number is L C7182 - the C indicates 1990/1.

You can simply run a standard 24tpi tap through each side of the BB - it does not cut too much metal away, rather it it rejigs the threads to 24tpi, I have done it several times to Raleigh BBs. You will also need to reduce the width of the BB shell - best way is with a BB shell facing tool. You must remember to use the correct taps on each side as the threads are handed ...

20in ROAD FRAME c1948 Lovely faux 2-plate fork crown will convert easily to single speed or fixed.

Top Tube (ctc): 22in

Wheel size: Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 50mm

This is a very pretty small frame from the late 1940s - I do not know make it is but it is obviously built from good quality double-butted tubing probably Reynolds 531 as it takes a 27.2mm seatpost. Its in very sound condition and will make a great single speed or fixed frame - the rear dropouts are easily respaced to 120mm - I will do it for the buyer if they like. £55http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/20in-unknown-dets.jpg

One very good trick to help your tyres stay on the rims is to use two rim tapes - this makes it much more difficult for the bead of the tyre to sink into the well of the rim at one place which then allows another part of the tyre to pop off the rim. You can also build up the thickness of your existing rim tape with insulation tape. This trick works time and time again and was the only way to get the tyres to stay on the rims of my Kingcycle when the tyres were inflated to 90psi...

Seat tube length is not very important as long as you can get the saddle low enough for your normal saddle height. With lo pros the top tubes slopes down (and there's often an extended seat tube) so standover clearance is less likely to be a problem. But Top tube length is important. If you're using proper aero bars (either cow horns or the Tri type) TT length will need to be a little shorter than on your standard road bike ... if you're using flats you will probably need a riser stem and TT length can be longer but it all really boils down to where you like your bars. Best advice is to measure your current set up - saddle-bar length, saddle-bar height and see if you replicate it on the frame you fancy.

Pollards were a Coventry framebuilder who I think closed in the late 1980s/early 1990s. This frame is in sound condition and is I am sure built from Reynolds 531 double-butted tuning; the lugs are Nervx Pro and once refrinished it will look very beautiful - the rear dropouts are Campagnolo vertical making it not so ideal for singlespeed or fixed wheel use. £45
