I've just done exactly the same Chisel > Epic Evo transition, although I went for the Expert.

I replaced a steel hardtail with a chisel. My old bike was great but the chisel is objectively faster in every possible scenario

I have a Chisel for precisely this kind of riding, will dig some pictures out of my set-up but basically full frame pack and saddle pack is enough for most 2-3 day trips. Lack of mounting points only an issue if you want to carry loads....

Noticeably quicker and better at climbing than slacker/steel 'trail' options, way faster at descending than a gravel bike, what's not to like?
