Thanks for the advice chaps, although http://businesscycles.com/tr-refspec.htm#chainline says that the chainline will be different with a 110mm hub. Confusing. Perhaps I'll need a 2.5mm spacer?

I'd use a flat file to take off as little material from the inside rear of both dropouts until the axle just goes in. This way there'll be no alignment problems. Chrome poses no problem, a sharp file will go through in one pass. I'd use a round file to finish the curve nicely.
Although.. If you file the axle you can swap front wheels back to a smaller axle with no problems.

Hi,
Does anyone know if I should only use the Record Pista BB with the current Record Pista chainset? The Record Pista BB is 111mm asymmetrical according to Campy's site.
I've ordered a Centaur Bottom Bracket Superlight Silver 111mm, hoping it will be ok, but I think it will be symmetrical.
To complicate things I'll be using an old Sovus 110mm flip flop hub as my frame is 1940's.Any definite answers appreciated, thanks.

Yeah I shoulda searched first really, but it seems so unspontaneous..
I think the ability to lock my cable around most street furniture, posts, small trees, my waist, etc, and its decent performance in tests does it for me above D-locks. I keep seeing lever marks on D-locks, although that shows they're undefeated. This cable is shielded by hardened steel.
I guess there's not much in it between this lock and the top D-locks. Spose I've answered my own question again. -
Has anyone heard of one of these Abus locks being defeated?

I use one as a courier and mine has been attacked with cutters - only went through the plastic cover and left a puny scratch. I'm about to start using a nicer bike and wondered if I was using a good enough lock..? Experiences? Rumours? Ta.

I once did 52mph down City Road on an 8-speed road bike during a gale.
