I would have like white hoods, but decided to run Campag brakes, so needed levers with the quick release built into the hoods, which gave me the option of ergo shifters (£££), or boring black Condor-branded Tektro levers. Thanks for the offer though.

I use my quick release to lock the brake on when the bike's lent up in my hallway. I wound the adjuster right out on the calliper before I set it up so if I need to get the wheel out I can just wind that back in instead. Gives me enough clearance. Don't know if that would work for you?

I was brought up on BMX and the philosophy that gears are for queers. I was just gonna get me a single speed road bike for some exercise. A few of my mates were ravin on about fixed gear so I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about. Got a fixed gear. Now I see what all the fuss was about!

What Capri you got? One of my mate's has got a mk3 2.0 and another has a matt black mk2 3.0, they are both gorgeous.

Mk3 2.8 special in matt black.

I've only spent about £300 but if I didn't own a classic car I could have easily spent the £3000 I spent on my car on bike stuff.

[FONT=Trebuchet MS]I bought a 2008 LeMond Fillmore about two weeks ago, totally blind for, £400. Just been through the 2009 bikes and I'm still totally stoked on my purchase! The best bit is the chainset. Miles ahead of the competition! Oh and sealed hubs! The only bad point I could find is the cable guides and the rack mounts. Otherwise a straight up totally rad ride! If you have £400 for an OTP get a 2008 LeMond Fillmore! [/FONT]

Just in case anyone's interested, I've just found a nice new lever from a company called Eclat BMX. Don't think they're in the UK yet but most places I've seen them say early December. I would recommend Custom Riders myself.
