Welcome to Cornwall. It is very hilly, but most climbs are relatively short, so once you get to a certain level of fitness, you get used to it. Wrong end of Cornwall for you, but I like to head down to Land's End for longer rides. West Kernow Way opened last year and is a 230km loop offroad and small lanes.

Bissoe Trail is quite family friendly and runs north to south coast with cafe's etc.

Sorry to hear about the double pain. I had a fracture of the femur and hip screw about 10 years ago now and as youramericanlover says, you'll be up and about surprisingly quickly. Since then I've done Eroica twice and numerous sportives, so it won't hold you back! Do the physio as advised and heal up. Thoughts are with you...
