Hi all,
I am after a few cheap components that ideally I really need posted unless they are ever in Reading/West Berks.
They are for a beater so the prices reflect the top end of what I am willing to pay - if any of the prices seem too cheap, then don't offer me anything!
Sprocket - 16t - for a 3/32" chain. Must be in good condition with good threads. Willing to pay £7 posted.
Seatpost - 24.0mm Diameter w/no rust but I'm not bothered about scratches. All bolts and threads must be intact. Willing to pay £10 posted.
Thanks and please PM me with any offers.

@Momentum. True, the older style ones do have that, but the new X4 stems have the standard bolt fastening system, as found on the road stems.
-
@Donkey Rhubarb - THey are H plus Sons, available from Brick Lane Bikes - if you dare!
-
@jersey - the geometry is based on a 58 cm fuji track pro, but with a 1cm shorter seat and top tube and a half degree slacker head angle to make it more comfortable for the road.
Yes, I did look at the Reynolds too. To be honest, I don't think there is much in the the choice between Easton, Reynolds or Time...
-
@dicki - the wheels are already purchased!
Yea I was either going easton finishing kit or thomson. Just gotta decide...

Good call on the Thomson stuff tilover, I was thinking of masterpiece post with a mtb stem to keep the stiffness up.
Forks wise... I was thinking either the Time Millenium Stiffs OR the EC90s, I think the Time's are a bit more rigid so might sway towards those.
Yep. it's a modern one, that's why I'm thinking the frame will be the Ti colour, and the the rest of the bike black, to pick out the black decals on the frame and to keep it looking smooth!
I will post pics up when she's completed!

Just in case anyone is interested... I went for an all black build of Phil Woods and Mavic CXP33s with plain gauge spokes - also in black.
New question...
What is a light (and good quality) sprocket and chain? I was looking at some Ti-Nitride options as these apparently roll smoother.
Also... Steel Chris King or Titanium?!
@Koto - have you got any pics that you can put up?
thanks

Sad and unfortunately, all to regular news.
As what could be described as a 'community' here on the foru, the majority of members og which are from London, could something not be done?
A petition, a demonstration perhaps, video evidence of bad/unsafe driving or accident hotspots.
It seems as there are so many of us out there, we could be a voice with some force behind it.

For that sort of money - as other people may have said (sort of skim read the thread) - you should be investing in a good quality frame, first and foremost. Don't be afraid to buy it new, as you can get exactly what you want, rather than being tempted by 2nd hand deals that won't be EXACTLY what you want.
You could even get the parts 2nd hand for it and save a bit on those. If you've got that money, spend around £400 - £500 on the frameset (frame and forks), and it (could) last a lifetime.
As has been said before, a 58 i most likely too big. You'll most likely want a 56 if you've got average or longer than average legs.
My first fixed (that I still have) was a Fuji Track Pro that I got for £700 last year. However, having changed a few parts, I have cumulatively spent approaching £1000 on it. Therefore, go custom! It's a bit more effort, but definitely worth it.
You also need to decide what you want the bike for...
Will you be mainly commuting or will you be racing/training at the track or will you want to do tricks on it or maybe a combination of all 3?
Narrow that down and I'm sure people will come back to you with a more definitive list of frames tha you could look at.

Nah I'm not seeking peer approval - I just can't decide myself! I'm a halfway house atm between the pistas and the phils...
Someone said DAs... Are these better than Phils?
Also - Cranks... I was going to go for a DA track set but I was thinking of something a bit different, maybe along the lines of a Middleburn set. Are these comparable in quality?
My bad vinyl villain! My eyes have failed me. People are bound to hate on this frame because it comes froma a major manufacture. But I think if a lot of people saw it in the street, they would give it a second look. Well done Kona!
