you are below import tax but you could pay up to £25 shipping, but you can negotiate it with them - or even find a shipping firm and set it up yourself?
i ordered a few bits last time and got fucked as they the US wanted me to pay import tax (the full amount was on the box) then the shipping company charged me £15 for admin to hold it and give me the luxury of charging me the import tax.. fking cunts!Urgh scary stuff!
Why is there not a nice little shop in London which sold these, grrrr

Anyone have any ideas how much postage would be for something like this?!

aw, those metal chain guard are perfect for my girlfriend's built! I need to find another bike shop that supply those rather than going to a racist one.
Went and had a look in there at lunchtime and the ones they have in stick are all pretty plasticy, certainly no metal ones!
plus you have to pay another tenner for the fixings, so not as cheap as they look!
If you find any nice ones anywhere let me know!

Hi,
I am doing up a old Batavus town bike for my girlfriend for xmas, I have managed to source nearly everything that I need, the only thing I can't find anywhere online at all is a plain silver chain guard, can be either plastic or metal and doesn't need to be a full guard.
Oh and looking for as cheap as possible....
Here's what the bike did look like.....
It is now in about 20 pieces spread across my floor....

Well two days included lacing one side 2 cross originally (on the 3 cross rear) and redoing once I'd figured out what had gone wrong and re-truing the wheels to an inch of my life after they bedded in on a day long ride. I reckon I could now lace and true a radial wheel within 15 minutes easy, I also reckon I tend to exaggerate things.
Can't wait to lace up some more now, keep watching hubs/wheels on t'bay in anticipation.
And they are still true...
(the bike is mine, I made the tea)
He certainly wasn't a smooth criminal.
