LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
This is obviously terrible news to hear.
A heartfelt and sincere thank you to @Velocio for everything.
I may not be a big player on here, but i have spent enough time to know this is my safe space, even if I am called a cunt on occasion, that just means I am accepted.
Things LFGSS opened my eyes to:
Spending more money than is sensible on watches.
Mechanical Keyboards.
Lots of video games.
Lists.
Forum Book.
Using the (fucking) search function.
News of significant peoples deaths (RIP thread)
News in general (News thread)
More support than I realised existed from strangers on the internet. Some dark times have been shared on here, and I only ever had love and support. Thanks gang.
Thanks Dee. -

We Butter The Bread With Butter, German metalcore, a new genre I enjoy.

Came to spaff off about Pest Control, but it seems my last post ages ago was also about them!

I need to expand my noise of choice, but I keep coming back to the good stuff

I was going to post this in the Maj memorium thread, but seemed more apt for here:
One of the things I love most about this forum is how much people care about one another.
There was recent post about someone from another forum who were "welcomed" in classic LFGSS fashion and ran off to complain about it.Hang around long enough and these, very sad, tragic and unfortunate posts about the passing of a member come along and there is a public outpouring of grief for the loss of one of our own, and you realise, we are actually not a bad bunch, and if you settle in you will be another one of us.
I have met IRL very few of you, but over the years people on here have gifted me equipment, sold me other things, given untold advise and generally helped me through some very tough times and some very good times.
I am saddened that it takes the loss of a beloved member for me to express how grateful I am to everyone of you.
Now fuck off and ride a bike.

In Essex there is a bit of a stereotype for boyracers and chavved up motors.
out-of-town retail parks ended up installing barriers in the car parks to prevent late night drag racing, both to stop ingress and other static barriers in between rows of parking bays. Then the problem was pushed to industrial estates, I used to work in a local one and Mondays would be met with litter in the car park and lots of rubber down on the roundabout they drifted around.
They then installed aggressive speed bumps to deter them in the future. -

wasn't that years ago?
