the veneer was £20, timber £40, hinges £38 be cheaper without the drawer obviously.

Following on from my earlier post I’ve been making a watch box possibly for someone on here subject to its completion.
Nearly finished and will get some better photos when it’s complete - just the hinges to install.

American black walnut with a burr oak veneer lid - designed to hold 12 watches and small drawer box below for accessories.
If anyone is interested in a box let me know.

Second one, definitely the sump as I tried it with a new plug and the original. Little bits of half circle aluminium pieces as well around the heads. Not sure but I had a new copper washer.

Are the serts a better option than tapping a large size?

Did an oil change on my bmw (523i n52b engine) and the sump plug took a while to unthread. When I tried to tighten up it just spins when it gets tight.

I don’t fancy replacing the sump. Are the helicoil kits easy to fit?

Or retap next size up m13 x 1.5 and larger bolt? Aluminium sump

Its disc brake, post mount. Pretty sure it’s 53cm or 54cm at the most. I can double check

thinking of selling my Moots PSYCHLO X RSL either frame/forks or possibly full bike.

53cm, Sram Etap, CK wheels/headset are the main bits. Love the bike but limited to 35mm rear tyre size and I have Singular Kite Ti with better clearances.

Thank you. Yes I could look at designing one with Perspex part lid and 12 watches - would be quite big? Would the watches just be in smaller compartments or fixed onto a watch cushions?
A drawer is possible too

Thanks for the feedback, never considered a window in it.
I bought a box of exotic wood many years ago and made some shop sawn veneer using my bandsaw and drum sander. No idea what type of wood it is. The lid pull is ebony

Thinking of making some watch boxes - this is my first attempt and I’d probably need to make at least 10 before I’d be happy to sell them.

Any interest or feedback? Will eventually have hinges, internal dividers etc
